Watch servicing

Do you all take your watches for servicing on a regular basis?
I sent my Tag and a Movado in to a specialty service department first week in April and its still in line for a quote....I had no idea so many people service their watches.

I think Rolex and Omega recommend every 5 years I usually wait 10, had my Omega and my wife's Omega in for service last fall. Took 8 weeks but they come back looking like new watches.

Sent my Sub in once for service in 21 ish years, was after I was in a motorcycle accident so it was damaged. But otherwise if it keeps time, I will wait.

It's better to have the watches serviced just like cars but good thing it doesn't require annual maintenance .Well, I have not serviced any of the watches of mine as of yet

I have a Cartier Roadster that has been serviced by Cartier every 3-4 years. My 1999 second edition Monaco from Tag Heuer has only been serviced once by Tag when I also had to replace the acrylic crystal that had a deep scratch in it that couldn't be buffed and polished out. Otherwise it has never had an issue.

I sold my Cartier Santos 100 after owning it for over 10 years and never had to service it as it kept perfect time.

I have only serviced my GMT Master II twice in 27 years. It sits in my safe and I wear it maybe two or three times a year. I have never had my Breitling serviced in the 18 years I've had it. However the vintage watches I have from the 50s and 60s need servicing every five years because I never wear them and the mechanisms get stuck. Ishould probably bring them in every two years.

So it's never been serviced. I have the original paperwork and boxes like that one, and the warranty card and registration card are still blank. I'm gonna need to put that in my safety deposit box at the bank.
