This is a car that stopped us in our tracks at SEMA, and we knew we had to speak to the owner and builder George to get the lowdown on this absolutely insane 2002!

Check out more of the build on George's Instagram:

It's cool to see so many S55 swapped builds

Great looking car

A bit strange on the power that with port injection and single turbo they are aiming at 800hp, I would think much more

Some people don't measure their d... size with horsepower. That power seems wayyy more than anyone could enjoy on a platform like that.

Not my taste, just a bit overdone. But a 2002 with subtle mods might be interesting

It's cool but the wide body is too much. I would much prefer a restomod

What a world we live in where 800 hp is "meh." 3 years in and I'm still not completely confident with my stock M3's ~450hp.

Completely agree. Anything above 400-450 or so is just a dick swinging contest.

The fastest car I've ever driven was a 550hp AMG GT-C. That car went from 30mph -> jail before you could even say "jail." Yeah, it was a riot, and I couldn't stop laughing after every pull. But after driving that car, I feel like I shouldn't be allowed on the street with that much power unless I pass a higher level driver's exam. That thing is a 3500 lb gun, only a matter of time.

I think they ruined it with a 800hp S55 motor, don't need or want a snail that big. I love everything else, huge widebody fan, fenders from a 1 ton dully Ford.

Then spend some time on a circuit with an instructor. I have and it certainly helps with car control.

Exactly my point. Some people buying these cars aren't track nuts. They're just wealthy. I was respectful enough of my abilities to leave traction control on. I have done a few HPDEs with 600hp cars. That doesn't mean 500+ hp isn't too much for the streets. In the wrong hands it's as effective as a gun. Except you don't need a background check for it. That's all I was saying.

responsible use of said power is key. My X5 50i has a claimed 456HP and will do 0-60mph in 4s on a good day, 4.15s+ on an average day stock. I don't feel like it's too much power at all. They key is knowing how to handle things and driving accordingly. Sure AWD is different than RWD but the idea is the same.

Well, 456 hp in something that weighs 6000 lbs is a little different.

It's SEMA! The cars there have to be to the absolute extreme to even get noticed! I can't describe just how big and wild this event is if you are not familiar. It's not like this guy built it to sit in the drop-off line at kindergarten and commute to work. He's an auto artist who brought his wildest piece to show. SEMA is all about going over the top and practicality is not on the menu! Just enjoy it for what it is. And I won't believe ya for a second if you told me you didn't at least pause briefly about the thought of giving it a go and just punching it! Some lucky collector will snap it up at Barrett Jackson someday soon or the builder will do all the magazines and then scrap it... Either way, ya just gotta appreciate his ingenuity and talent.

Obviously, that car won't use half of that power, ever.

It's a great show car so few tweaks and showing 1k hp would be equally impressive to its outer appearance

Put it in a car less than 3k lbs and let's talk.

On topic. Cool car. Dunno why folks are all bent over the HP number on a SEMA car.

Gotta love SEMA "builds"

That's funny, just watched the video again. He's planning on it to deliver that much HP. Now its about .5hp. I need to go to SEMA.
