Climate Control Issue

When using my climate control, hot or cold, air con or no air con, there seems to be a sort of whistling sound that becomes louder the higher the fan speed. Was just wondering if anyone can help me try figure out what it is? Would attach a video to try and show the noise but that doesn’t seem possible

The noise comes from the left footwell (passenger side)

I had that happen — they ended up replacing something in the AC system, the compressor, I think. I have the paperwork somewhere, I can see if I can pull it up if you'd like.

I would appreciate it if you could, but if you can’t don’t worry about it. Thank you )

I think I have an idea of where they may be))) Let me check. Mind you I have an X3, but I imagine it may likely be the same thing.

Found it. If what is described here sound like what you're experiencing — this will hopefully help.

It's likely the blower: https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...77#64119350395.

I happened to remove mine when trying to replace the cabin air filter myself. Put it back and found out it didn't work anymore. Called a BMW official service. They offered a ridiculously expensive computer diagnostics. When declined ("I'm telling you what happened, I don't need a computer to know that! You only need to reinstall it correctly for me.") they hung it up. So I removed/installed it again myself and it works ever since.
