Any 2014+ Range Rover Sport owners?

I really like this SUV. I know Land Rover had ton of reliability issues before, are they better now....since the new 2014+ generation?

Yeah V8 supercharged are nice but expensive, I was looking at V6 supercharged HSE. If they are similar in reliability to BMW and Audi, I wouldn't mind getting one slightly used

I can’t speak for the current gens, but I have a 2011 sport with 66k miles and not a single issue. And I park it outside year round from -5 to 95 degree temps. It’s been my everyday bruiser. I’m not a fan of the current v6 supercharged motor. Personally, I would prefer the TD6 (diesel). The V8 is great too but the supercharger makes it overkill. Wish they would have kept the NA V8 as an available option.

Almost pulled the trigger on a 2018 diesel (especially since the 0-60 is only 2 secs slower than the 518hp supercharged V8....

Just couldn't get past the fact it drove with top much body roll, felt heavy in steer, and brakes felt cheap..... oh and it uses DEF which murders diesel engine reliability.

Stickered at 110k, and laughed.... x6m for the win!

My folks are thinking of getting one...

Until they saw the ridiculous lease rates. Unfortunately there's not many options on the market believe it or not. X5 they've had two, Q7 is boring, GLE sucks, Cayenne is small and pricey, F-pace interior is worse than a Hondas. They may take the plunge on the RR...

I have a 2015 that I bought new, haven't had any issues thus far. It's the wifeys car and she loves it. Adequate space for us and our 2 kids. Not having the fear of getting stuck anywhere is also nice.

Brother in law has one, it's a really good size for a two kid family, not too big or too small. Nice looking but you need the HSE.

Another one I was checking out is Macan. I like the idea of compact sporty SUV. Probably enough for 1 kid. I care more about reliability, and would gladly buy Lexus SUV, but they don't have anything that I like.

As far as X5/6 M, I just don't trust those at all. I Googled and quickly ran in to many posts with issues and that warranty is a must with any M, especially V8

Snicker. A GTI and a 3er work fine for a kid and dog, including a Burley bike stroller, hard to think you'd need something bigger.

We're eying a Macan and an XC60 to replace the 3er, but honestly both seem a little big. Still miss our totaled E84 X1 35i, wish someone still made something similar to that.

I just opened myself up to a few SUVs because I might not find sedans that I like. I am looking at S4s and ISF as well. GSF is ideal, but too much $$$

Both are just so massively underpowered. The CX9 feels okay to about 2,500rpm, but then just falls on its face. The CX5 never gets going.

I totaled my '16 Mazda 3 S GT 6 speed last year and haven't missed that wheezy, inefficient thing for a second. I want to love Mazda, I've had a few Miatas, and my dad had his FD Rex until this year. But their current engines are awful.

Well, if you are buying an SUV for speed, you're doing it wrong. You're stuck with the Trackhawk, GC SRT, turbo Porsche or maybe the X5/6M then. Unless you want older then toss in the TBSS, but be ready to put a trans in at some point. I agree that, outside the Miata, Mazda sucks right now. They need a new Mazdaspeed model.

Don't mean outright speed, just the ability to keep up with traffic. The current Mazdas are just dogs, and combined with poor real world efficiency, why bother? Fit and finish and material quality is nice, but until they get their motors sorted or add a hybrid boost, they're pretty darned boring.

Two kids would be approaching capacity, but I can already fit the Burley, a BOB and a 29er front wheel in the trunk of the VW, so what more would I need?

My sister needed a Suburban to get two kids around and "downsized" to a full size Range Rover when they left the house. So I know people have wildly different views of what's big and what's not, but a Macan is absolutely not too small for kid duty unless you're a family of ridiculously tall sumo wrestlers.

Cool. It's a good solution for you, but not for me and I've actually driven both of them. The turbo motor in the CX5 would actually be about right, but I doubt we'll see that.
