Out of curiosity I looked up the precipitation last September at YKF. It was reported at 177.8mm (7 inches) for the month. It was the wettest month by far in this last year. Second was October at 89mm.

September 2022 thus far is up to .... 5mm and most of it was this morning and last night.

~1900. The external compressor was going to be the rectangular option vs. square, but that can't possibly equate to +$15k.

Almost chilly when I left for work, but it was still dark.
65/cloudy now. Sweatjacket was worn to get coffee and work in servers, but ditched for now.

Strange September

After a record setting heat wave, followed by an unusual rain teaser (.10 inch), today's forecast is for a very unusual 1.70 inches, beginning tonight and through Tuesday.

Back to the heat here for a couple of days. 94F and humid today, lower 90s tomorrow, but then upper 60s the next two days. So a big change in store. Saving the garage and outside work for the cooler days.

Heat's a-coming back here too. Upper 90s most of next week. Then I believe it will cool once again. Hope it's the last of the heat for this year.

We've got overnight lows in the 40's to low 50's F for the next week. Thursday evening is the fall equinox, and on schedule Friday's high is only forecast to be in the low 60's F.

Oh, and I notices that a tree across the street was already well into its fall colors when I stepped out at lunch time, and had to pick the first leaf of 2022 off of my car's windshield.....

One of my favorite weather phenomena is heavy rains during time of sunshine. Really makes for an awesome view. This was yesterday evening in Chicagoland.

Yesterday I walked to another building for a meeting. Al lthe pavement was wet, but it was just a fine mist.
A coworker stuck her head in the conference room to ask if she was supposed to be in the meeting, said she had to run out and close her car windows.
I looked out, it was POURING! And I wasn't sure if I left my windows cracked. Literally ran the 20-25 yards, looked at the windows, and ran back. I had to locate a towel to wipe my pelon, and my light grey pants were completely dark grey.

Today, the ground is still damp, EXCEPT under trees. The rain didn't make it thru the canopy.

This system is fast approaching from the West with Fiona from the South. Anything not bolted down goes in the garage. (Flower pots, furniture etc...)

We are shutting down the Clinic after lunch until Monday.

Looks like Fiona is at the same longitude of Florida right now so there's a few days to go. Hopefully it doesn't get nasty down there.

Lots of rain clouds on the east coast right now.

We're getting a high of 53F (12C) today and the leaves are starting to change it seems overnight.
