M models with IDrive 8.5 will “will be introduced without the new graphical interface”

Still only Tesla seem able to get this right after 10 years.

Then not every feature can be available on cars lacking HW but the base OS and UI can be.
If not, they've constructed their SW in the wrong way.
Would significantly reduce SW maintenance cost as well.
Think the issue here is that bmw doesn't make the hardware and software, they're not as integrated as tesla who basically builds everything themselves allowing them to support it for longer.
I looked at my friends app for his Benz c300 and it looks pretty similar to the bmw one, meaning some tier 1 supplier made similar hardware for both cars, meaning Benz probably will have the same issue when it comes to software updates unless they spent more on better hardware.
