Well, it wasn't really SIPPIN, per se. My brother invited everyone over to my house for tacos. He brought fixins for margaritas. He went to Trader Joes and got their tequila (didn't know they even had one) plus some limeade and tart cherry juice. I contributed ice and triple sec. My wife had a single, and my other brother's gf had a single. We drank the rest of the bottle, then had a few sniffs of Tres Generaciones anejo.

I had a major app launch this morning at 0700. Maybe that wasn't the greatest idea to make tacos. . .

They are both good. Slight edge to Eagle though.

I refer people to BH as a "Starter " bourbon.

It was mine.....

Now I am of the mind that I want 100 proof or higher... Got some 130 willet on the shelf...now that is bourbon...

IF you have the Willet bourbon I would be impressed, not easy to find... the rye on the other hand is a lot easier but also very good.

Vodka gimlet -- winter edition. 2 parts vodka, 1 part fresh squeezed lime juice, maple syrup to taste (in place of simple syrup).

It probably would have been easier to read the label if we slowed down a little.

I got very lucky on a tour in October.

Master Distiller had opened barrel #4771 and said let's bottle this. Single Barrel. Barrel proof. Sold out that day.

We were visiting and wife and I got to each buy a bottle. 5 year. 130 proof.

So fine....a little young and in your face... but it has it all.....

Impressed???

8 year is the launch point lately for me, nothing less...

Recent enjoyment, so much so, went and got a 2nd bottle before 1st was empty knowing the stock wouldn't survive the holidays.

Very, and also a little jealous! That is awesome. They didn't have anything special in the shop when I was there and I have never seen a bottle of the bourbon in the wild! I did at least get to taste one of the bourbons while there, I think it was a 6 year.

Seconded, they get harder to get after that batch sells but at least they sell 3 batches a year. I've opened a few since this but I have backups from as far back as 2017.

I'm almost exclusivley a Woodford Bourbon guy,

Oddly enough, I've been on a homemade Margarita kick after the wife found a mix that we really like. Screw paying for "top shelf" at the local mexican restaurant! lol

A homemade Margarita is tough to beat, my recipe consists of lemon and lime juice, simple syrup, egg white, tequila, triple sec and floated with Grand Marnier.

I about crapped myself when the greeter handed me a ticket that said it allowed me to buy one of each bottle....and handed one to my wife too...

I passed on the $750 ( I think a 12 year??) bottle but should have bought it and flipped it and paid for our trip....

The staff said it was the first barrel pick since June.

It is very good...especially for $85 bucks.

Not sure what market would be now...probably 300+?

Just picked this up a couple nights ago. Pretty solid bottle. I've been really impressed with Maker's premium offerings recently. 46 Cask Strength and the 2020 Wood Finishing Series were really good as well.

They are hard enough to get I would have been walking out with 4 bottles if that happened to me! Awesome timing.

pretty successful shopping trip last night...and i blew my whole christmas budget in one shot...so this is more of a pic of what i will be sipping over the next month rather than what i'm currently sipping....

although, i did already crack the seal on the redbreast 12. highly recommended irish whiskey for any bourbon guy looking to expand your palate.
