The clincher for the TRX is getting the wife to do it. You may wanna figure out a way to use the strap in a room where the kids aren't allowed to go….. if you know what i mean….
Not sure if it's really want you meant, but attempting to target certain areas for fat loss is a common myth. For example, you can't do thousands of crunches and expect to get a thinner stomach necessarily. You need to do workouts that use a majority of the muscle mass in your body (major core movements). The more muscle you use in an exercise, the more calories you can possibly burn.

I read up there that you have knee problems, so you may want to just start with some light cardio and maybe some light weights. You can do some light calisthenics and balance stuff for the core work. The more weight you lose, the easier it will be on your knees eventually. If you truly have a damaged knee, you may want to get it looked at before you start working out, just to be safe. Focus on the diet first then gradually start introducing exercise. Do something too fast and too hard and you'll either hurt yourself or just quit because it's too much.

And LOL at getting the wife to do the TRX. I may just have to try that

Some interesting positions indeed.

That's one of the great things i find about TRX is that if you have certain joint problems, you can change the angle of attack and really take the strain off of those joints. By using your arms for balance, you can do squats where you butt nearly touches the ground but your knees are only holding 30% of your weight. Where as a normal squat your knee is holding all the weight.

i've got crappy knees form years of skateboarding and TRX squats / lunges destroy my quads but don't stress my knees at all.

Again, women on TRX…

Edit…

Haha yeah I definitely feel 100% better now, it's worth it, just maintain a calorie deficit and you should continue to lose weight! Like I said you really need to read the book Eat to Live! Check it out! It really changed my life! You also need to find out what your BMI is this is a must! Just type your info in at this link: http://www.webmd.com/diet/calc-bmi-plus

Haha if you are particularly muscular (Jacked) it can throw the BMI off, What's your height, and weight? I saw your pic's you don't look obese, but then again, you could just carry/hide that extra 30+ lbs well. When most people hear the word obese, they think 100+ overweight, but technically 30 lbs or more overweight is obese (EG: higher risk for type II diabetes, heart disease, and some cancers) ...

ok folks - two things that I will take away from this.

(1) I'm overly surprised that I didn't tip this scale over 300lbs, seriously. I think I've lost 15-20lbs being on this meal plan

(2) I'm still a fat fuck

overall, I'm really geeked and excited that I got a scale - it will become a freaking drug that I have to get on this scale and see lower numbers.

I think this was the second to last final piece of the puzzle for me - cardio/exercise being the last.

if I can get down to 230 this year, i'll be ECSTATIC !!!!!

5-11 235# And unfortunately do carry an extra 30# well. I should weigh about 210. So yeah, that makes sense.

So that would put your BMI at about 32.8 that's not that bad, my BMI was about 36 when I started my diet last April, now I'm at 25.6. You should be able to get that down pretty fast if you maintain a daily calorie deficit....

yea the problem with bmi is that it doesn't take muscle mass into account. its probably useful to measure body fat % along with weight or bmi

Awesome job buying the scale! That is super vital to weight loss! Like you said this will help you stay motivated, you will be a lot less likely to splurge at night, if you know that the next morning you will have to weigh yourself! You should start weighing yourself at the same time every morning. Don't get discouraged if you fluctuate some, it's normal. Just make sure that you are losing at least two pounds per week!

More importantly don't freak out if it doesn't go down one week and you ate proper. Sometimes I did not lose weight for a week and then would drop 5lbs in a day and continue dropping normally. Also I personally always liked to weigh myself at the same time of the day which for me was morning before eating.

Actually all this is motivating me to start on my diet again. I have been sitting at around 250lbs (from 300) for the past year. As soon as I get over this cold I think I'm gonna hit it hard! I want to be down to 200lbs by Sept, I would be happy with that (even though would still be fat at 200 ugh).

Porn, some tasty double ds

I'm 6'1 and 275lbs right now. I'm hoping to drop 75 lbs at the end of my journey and maintain it as much as possible. Hopefully 50 by the end of the year

You could definitely do 50lb in a year, I would recommend that you cut way down on your carbs though (no more, bread, rice, or noodles), unless they are coming from fruits or vegetables other than white potatoes.

You need to throw some more veggies in there, some onion, garlic, cilantro, banana peppers etc, there are plenty of low calorie ways to make that taste better...
