Night of the Superbowl, that too in the same metropolis the game was played. You're probably right.

Are you referring to the Azusa P.D. shooting? Thankfully no, I wasn't involved.

It's like WW3 down here in Nola right now. The car jackings and robberies are out of control. I've got a weapons instructor who is going to teach me to shoot but I want something in the meantime. The cops won't even show up to car break ins anymore. File a report online.

I would spend the money and buy the Taser brand option for civilians. It's similar to what we use, except it's not limited to a 5-second ride per trigger pull.

In the mean time, go and pick up a few cans of bear spray at your nearest sporting goods shop. One can never have enough bear spray.....

Can you educate me on the ramifications of using the tazer in a situation you feel threatened in ? I know that not using it could be worse.

I’m in NY so it may vary.

Also carrying one concealed is that an issue as it is a weapon is a permit required ? Can you buy dummy rounds to practice. Not sure how far they shook and what the drop per foot would be on this. Ideally I’d like not to be to close to use it.

I’d also be concerned that an officer may see this and think it’s a handgun and start a situation.

Sorry for the rapid fire questions.

I was recently denied a permit CCW as not a needed circumstance. My place was broken into while I was there and I was behind a locked door as a druggie with a knife was pounding I just want cash. Called police and he fled before police arrived. I had camera footage but they did not catch him. Really not sure how hard they tied bc I had footage from a neighbor that they never came to take.

This rise in crime is nuts. I have also been thinking about personal safety. I got used to having an armed SO by my side. Although we split a while ago, I now think about it. Car jackings are out of control and I imagine an old lady in a high performance vehicle is a perfect target. I am very aware of my surroundings and am vigilant but what if? I should look into the legality of tasers here. In the mean time, any issues keeping pepper, bear, or wasp spray in my center console due to temps if it gets too hot?

Articulation is everything. There's no permit required to own the taser and if you needed to use it, just be able to articulate why you used it.

Keep your car doors locked. You'd be surprised how many people drive around with unlocked doors. Secondly, keep bear spray and a knife with you.

My doors are always locked! I always know my surroundings. I don’t sit in the car in a lot la de da and clueless. I’ve been swarmed on the highway where I thought it was a block me in accident set up thing. I’m not comfortable with a knife or any weapon I’m not good with that could be used against me. I guess I’ll get some spray.

Be mindful of how spray will affect you as well, especially considering you'll be spraying outside and be subjected to wind shifts. There's always blowback!

In New York State, NYS Penal Code § 265.01 (heh, heh, heh, he said PENAL) says it's illegal to possess an electronic dart gun, stun gun, many types of knives, clubs, and even Kung-Fu throwing stars. I didn't look at NYC's laws, but can't imagine that they would be any more permissive than the state's laws when NYC doesn't even honor the state's pistol permits.

Bears are seriously a major problem in many parts of NY State due to restrictions in hunting them. I always recommend carrying a can or ten if you travel in NYC or live in one of the counties where obtaining an unrestricted CCW permit is difficult/impossible.....

Hey Sedan, I don't know when it is due to arrive, but I hope your Porsche isn't on the ship that's on fire!

No, mine is at the port in Emden awaiting a west coast vessel. The Felicity Ace was carrying Porsches bound for the east coast.

Divided road. School bus stopped on other side. Lights flashing but no stop sign deployed. Do I have to wait?

Divided road as in opposing directions of travel? You would need to stop.
