It would be 18,000 county workers total across all departments. Included in that number are 4,000 deputies. The department would be crippled. Even losing 1000-1500 would render us unable to provide law enforcement services.
So, what are you going to do after you retire?
Hopefully just track the 911 and Panigale V4 as much as possible. I would probably have a part-time job just for the social aspect; maybe become a reserve deputy.

Just happened yesterday a few miles from me at the time. An ambush on local PD after a DV call. My heart goes out to all families impacted.

DV calls are one of the most dangerous types of calls we respond to.

Strange that 0.0 doesn't bother my stomach like regular Heineken They use a different yeast, that must be it. Yeah, my story, sticking to it

There was a little parade on Saturday to honor a local NYPD Detective that was shot executing a warrant a few weeks back. Nice turn out.

Legitimate question: last night about 1am after coming off a flight, I was driving 25mph in a 30mph zone in a downtown area. See a city police cruiser (Explorer) aggressively start to follow me with their headlights lights off. Tailgating and following my every move for a couple lights (these were flashing reds). On a 35mph straightaway they proceeded to drive directly next to me then even a few mph above the speed limit before braking hard and turning around in the middle of the road.

What was the story here? If I broke a law I would have gotten lit up, but clearly this officer wanted to follow me for a bit, maybe run my plates, see if my registration was expired, look for tints (which I don't have), look inside the car, etc.??

Bizarre and disturbing situation. I feel like my car has been a cop magnet ever since I got it last June, especially since the new year. I used to drive far more aggressively with my prior black cars without issue. Now I'm constantly shitting bricks even at 5mph over. Really not enjoying driving anymore and losing the desire to own a true performance car since they clearly can't even be enjoyed.

That officer's driving behavior was a bit uncharacteristic. I would wager it was some young(er) and/or new(er)-to-the-job officer just being stupid. More mature officers don't typically do things like that.

What car are you driving currently?

Alfa Giulia in red. Two weeks ago in the same area an officer driving on the opposite side of the road flashed their flood lights at me while going 35 in a 35 downtown street. Maybe the car always looks like I'm going faster than it is, I don't know how else to explain it.

Red, no?

That's what the old wives tale would suggest, but I can count on one hand the number of red cars I've pulled over in 10+ years (…the last being a red 992 GT3 I pulled over on 10/23/21 just so I could talk cars).

1 am might have been the issue.
When I worked nights at the airport my lunch was at 2 am, since I lived close by I would drive home to eat sometimes. I drove a white C5 Corvette at the time and got pulled over for various things like no front plate, speeding, not stopping completely for right turns on red. The only thing as common as not being ticketed only warned was being asked "where have you been tonight?"

It was a drunk check.
