Hydro unit and abs pump, same thing?

Got warning lights came on the dash and also warning message on the nav screen saying a problem with driving stability.
I've read most common fault is hydro unit, garage says they think its abs pump. Are these just different terms for the same part?

Garage List
Yes - DSC, ABS Hydro Unit, Pump etc all refer to same part. The part is located under the offside removable plastic and rubber covers concealing the brake master cylinder. The fault is common but the causes can vary. The first step should be to get the fault codes read.

The part is indicated as 1 in the link below. There are numerous part numbers and the cost of the part differs significantly for 4 and 6 cylinder models.

This part, if the cause of the problem, can be rebuilt/repaired by ECU Testing who provide an excellent service. Do not go near BBA Reman. See my post on the subject of ABS, DSC failure.

We are now seeing shed loads of 325/330's coming our way with Hydro unit failure unlike the 320d's and alike the costs aren't so reasonable, for instance a Hydro unit from BMW is an eye watering £1580+ VAT, there is though I've never ordered one for a 325/330 a repair kit but that's still £900 odd plus VAT. The 320's and alike have had a more reasonable repair kit available for some time which is around £170 odd plus VAT, but for the bigger engined cars it is more expensive.

If your car has the issue and its noted as internal then ECU testing in Derbyshire's your place superb service and prompt too used them several times.
