You ever check out the videos from Fulgaz? Lots of them are shot around southern England and Wales. Do a search by country and then click on the videos you want to watch. If you have a smart trainer in your house and a Fulgaz membership, you can "ride" these courses almost as if you were there. My Wahoo trainer is set up in front of a 46" 4k TV, so the point of view to the roads in the videos is perfect. When the rider in the video encounters a hill, it gets very hard to pedal for me, just as if I were on the hill. Just the opposite going downhill. I run Fulgaz on a 4k Apple TV box, but it's also Windows compatible.

Thanks M_Six! I'll look into it, looks interesting.

When it comes to on the road I must admit I'm a bit of a lone wolf when it comes to riding and prefer to go at my own pace, with others I'm a bit impatient in trying to keep up with someone or slowing for them to catch up.
I got the riding bug from when at school and it's carried on since then, you tone your body to it and I go riding even when it's cold.

Got 12 miles in today on the gravel bike (modded Crossrip) with new 700x38 tires. I wanted to do more, but the wind was ridiculous today.

Was a good ride right up until I crashed. Had to brake hard to avoid a driver cutting a left and then couldn't get unclipped. Oof. Helmet did its job, though. Hit the pavement hard with no damage to my head. Busted up elbow, knee, and hip.

Ouch, by busted up you mean broken? Hopefully not.

I did back to back 40 mile rides on the Pinarello yesterday and today. Feel good although I had to take a nap afterwards. Drivers are particularly shitty here too, particularly about making turns while acting like cyclists aren't even there

Nah, just bruises. But at 62, injuries like this can wreak havoc the next day and beyond.

I was in speed mode, which at my age is a room I shouldn't party in as often as I do. I had just set a new PR on a Strava segment and was going for a good 5 mile lap time, so I was not being as careful as I should have been. If I hadn't needed to grab a ton of brake when she cut me off, I'd have been fine. Lesson learned.

I transitioned from mountain biking (9,000-11,000 elevation) to road racing about 15 years ago. After my Fuji was stolen from my garage I replaced it with this (stock photo) 2014 Ridley Fenix AL1 105 7005 in 2014. Back then a "ride" would be 2-3 miles and now I don't even go out for less than a 20 mile "trial" run. I look at newer bikes when I'm in the LBS but this is so fast and comfortable, for me, that I just replace the tires or cables when needed and it just keeps cranking.

11 mile ride on a nice cool/warm fall morning. Combination of neighborhood streets and regional bike path. Crossed one major road using a pedestrian crosswalk at a major intersection.

Despite a sore hip from my fall the other day, I got out and rode today. The weather was perfect and I just couldn't pass it up. I actually did 24 miles today, but I had to restart my head unit when I saw it wasn't recording my HR.

Did 25 today to hit my weekly 100 mile goal. Now I think it's time for 2 or 3 days off the bike. I need a break.

Decided to pedal up A1A on a glorious cloudy 80-degree morning. Didn't expect the life-sapping high winds though. Fucking gusts kept catching my wheel and trying to push me into traffic

I hate wind when I'm riding. Yeah, sure, tailwinds are fun, but I'd much rather have a calm day so I can ride in any direction without fighting wind.
