EX MACHINA
As you may know, I l o v e me some Sci-Fi! But all too often, the movies of recent memory are quite underwhelming. I had seen the trailer for this film months ago and thought it looked interesting but nothing amazing. After watching it last night, I am in fact, amazed! It is not high on action at all. But rather: intriguing, dramatic and provocative. Without giving away too much, I will simply say that I give it 4.5/5 stars only because it could've used a tad more action. But the storyline, plot, acting, choreography and visuals were all "exceptional". I was surprised to learn that the guy behind 28 Days (considered among the best Zombie movies ever), did this film. Simply because it was very different in scope and theme. Also, my wife doesn't care much for Sci-Fi at all. She really enjoyed this film. So I recommend it to you couples out there or as a date flick.

The entire film is focused around mostly 3 characters (but there are a couple more) including: Oscar Isaac and Domnhall Gleeson both of whom star in the upcoming blockbuster STAR WARS IIV.

I have the afternoon off with nothing to do on Friday, and am conflicted between this or Mad Max. Wifey went to opening Thursday night of MM without me, so there is still a slight chance I might be able to go to EM with her.

The trailer to this movie really intrigued me. I did not think it would have any action at all, so that there is some is already a bonus. I'm expecting this movie to go into social and moral themes with things like humanity and what it means to be alive.
I will be watching this soon. |

I missed this in the UK ... it only had a brief run on general release I believe. My own fault. I'll get it when it comes to DVD. I must say, that I thought the trailer was superb ... quite dark.
