BMW Credit Card

Does anyone have the BMW credit card? I was thinking of getting it since I only have 2 cards right now. It says you receive 2 points for every $1 you spend, but does anyone know how many points you need to get $1 off of a new car, repairs, merchandise, etc.?

edit: 1 point for every $2, sorry!

Oh, I finally found it: It says you get $100 off of a new lease with every 10,000 points. So basically, you would have to spend $20,000 before you could get $100 off of a new car. Well that doesn't seem worth it to me, but the terms are decent, so maybe I will just get it anyway since I was looking for an extra card.

if its 2 points per 1 dollar, then wouldnt you have to spend $5000 for the 10,000 points, instead of $20,000?... is it $100 off per month on a lease?

Yeah, and it isn't $100 off per month, it is just a $100 check.

Maybe you should try discover card. This is definitely my favorite! I have the gas card, in which I receive 5% cash back from all gasoline purchases, and 1% for everything else. You can transfer your cashback to your credit card balance, put it towards one of their partners for a gift card and get double, or have them write a check directly to you. You can only get your money back in $20 increments. I have nearly $90 coming back to me since I started with this card a year ago, but I'll wait until it hits $100 before I take it out. The interest rates are about normal, and there's no annual fee. Check it out and see!

Check out the Capitalone No Hassle Miles program. Only a $19 yearly membership free and I believe you get 5 miles per dollar spent. There are no blackout dates and you can travel on any airline. They also have other things you can buy with your miles such as a Bose home system, Bowflex, Callaway golf clubs to name a few. The miles come in handy when traveling. I have been a member since the 90's and this has saved me lots of money in airfare. They have recently changed their program and made it even easier to fly. If you can charge everything on the card, your points will grow rather quickly. The breakdown of miles is 15,000 for tickets up to $150, 35,000 for tickets $150.01-$350, 60,000 is unlimited with tickets more than $600. Easily pay for a ED and far more worth it than any other card for flying that is. You can also exchange the miles for cash as well, but your money is in flying. I went on my honeymoon to Hawaii all with miles and $0 out of pocket.

The problem with the BMW Credit Card is that it can be used only toward a lease, but not a purchase, right?

It's just a credit card. Whatever card you think is best for you, keep it, the rest, just throw it away. Too many credit card = trouble...

I was offered the bmw credit card with my purchase but declined. I already have 2 (one local, one foreign) and didn't see the need for a third. So instead they just gave me the ordinary non-credit BMW Card, which offers discounts at various hotels, restaurants, parking garages, golf clubs, health clubs, etc. They also have a concierge hotline that can book event tickets for you or make reservations at one of their 400+ partner restaurants.

Is the plain card an option in the US? Maybe that would be an idea?

Got to love that card!!! I've got enough money back in the last year to pay for all of my detailing supplies for the new car (including a PC).. I put everything on it and just pay it off at the end of the month. I end up getting at least a couple of hundred back each year especially with their new 5% back offers. Every couple of months they change the offer, its been for things like gas, home improvement, resturants, and currently on-line purchase.

I have it. Do not get the annual fee rewards = $50 a year for 1 point for each $1 you spend, double when for gas. A lot of people roll their eyes because I have one, but fock'em!

I have a BMW card. I think my mom used it to put the deposit of my car on it. I only use it when I get gas.

They offered the card to me when BMWFS called to verify all my info for the loan. I told them to send it, but I haven't used it yet though.

I like the roundel on it.
