Best lap top for under $600.00?

I was wondering what the best lap top would be for under $600.00? I know windows 7 is coming out in september and even if I got one with Vista the upgrade to windows 7 is free. It would be for internet surfing, you tube, school, forums and that's about it. No gaming...

Should I buy used? New? What and why?

for your needs anything will do honestly check out best buy or something...

you could get a very nice 'netbook' for significantly less than $600....but they are small.

newegg.com / woot and fatwallet will let you locate something on sale in the 600 range. Look for Wireless N, and 4+ hour batt life
