In the interest of modification I know the 135i offers more since it is already boosted, but the Z line has always offered a strong line of options. Meanwhile, I have never bought an American car before, but with those numbers and the Dale Earnheart Jr. concept car it was too jucy to overlook.

I think the SS will outrun the 135i on the straights but the opposite on the track, but maybe im wrong bc they did a lot of upgrades to the Camaro, and I love GM... as for the Z idk thats a tough one but I think the 135i will outperform the Z...

I think the Z and the 135i will be neck and neck with the edge in Stock form going to the Z...

Why?

Rear LSD and a more focused car.

Motor Trends new numbers for the 135i are 13.2 1/4 and 4.6 0 to 60.

There is always more potential for a turbo charged engine and personally I always wanted one, so that was a factor that played into me getting the 135i. I don't like the styling on the new 370z at all and the headlights look strange.

I think the Camaro will make a great daily driver, and the 370Z is going to be the best track car of the three. That said, I think the 135i is a great compromise with a lot of potential, even if it comes at a premium price.

370Z will likely be the sharper track tool than the 135i. The 350Z already was that.
Too soon for me to say how the Camaro will be on a track; GM has pulled out some real surprises recently (CTS-V, Cobalt SS). The aftermarket for this car should be pretty sick. The final dynamic and aesthetic polish probably won't be what you'd find in a BMW, but for that money that's going to be a helluva lot of car. Too much for me personally, in terms of size. I'm hoping they make a 9/10ths scale Camaro-type coupe on the upcoming Alpha platform which will underpin Cadillac's 3-Series fighter.

What I mean is I have not seen any handling comments that can be comparable to the other cars. Or any independent racetrack times. Most of the tests, first drive impressions, have been with the V6 model, not the SS.
With the 370Z, we already have an instrumented test from Motor Trend, and full road tests from C&D and R&T. Consensus is that it is faster than the outgoing car, and a sharper car to drive. The old car was a more focused track car than the 135i, and about as fast or faster on a road course, so it's safe to say the 370Z will be better and faster.

Ok now I have something to say. I probably would have bought the Nissan 350z if I did NOT need back seats for my son and nieces/nephews on the occasional road trip. For me Nissan/Infiniti comes closest to BMW feel when driving vehicles in my price range. For the 370z it will be a close call, but a loss in my book just because of the back seat thing. Any yes I did look at the G35/37 coupe as well....but had to go with my beloved bimmers. I think both are really good cars....

edit: IF I was gonna buy American today it would definitely be GM...they may be going bankrupt...and may have had questionable decisions in the past....but there current lineup is the most attractive I have seen in the American Automotive industry in YEARS...Pontiac G8 GT, Chevy Malibu, Chevy Corvette, Chevy Camaro, and yes even the Chevy Cobalt SS...I cannot think in recent times when I could have said that many cars from one American brand that I actually kinda like.

370Z all the way!!!! but again my opinion might be a little biased. (looks at the sig )

On the serious note, this new Z is everything 350Z ever wanted. It's got better interior, more power, better chassis, lighter -- what more can you ask for $32900??? 135 is a great car but for $$$ to performance = 370Z. rear seats, luxury and more mature enthusiasts car = 135

I honestly think the Camaro has a SUPERB interior compared to the Z.. like ive said before, the intirior of Z's are so lacking... comfort and looks, the dash is nice but the quality of the Leather is a no go.. gets damaged to easily and wears out fast, but ive owned many GM vehicles and the cars last and so does the interior...

You made the right choice at the time. I just saw the 370Z at the Boston Auto Show last Friday evening. Holy cow, is the 350Z a much nicer looking car. There are so many hideous angles on the new car, and the ziggy head and tail lights are not something most people will get used to.

Both my friend and I spent about 10 minutes looking at it from different angles, and both of us came to the conclusion of "what the heck were they thinking?".

It might be lighter, and quicker, but dayum....

Im not impressed really... it does look ugly.. not to mention they didnt even use a sport packagd 1 yet they used a sport packagd Z not the same...

The edmunds editors really emphasize the differences between the 350Z and the 370Z, in all aspects the 370 is superior. I gotta see it in person.

What difference would the sport package make? It's only seats and a steering wheel. :iono:
