It would be boring if everyone had EVs as there is nothing more fun than pulling away from a wailing loud ICE car in a performance EV. Its truly intoxicating lining up with that loud Stang, Challenger, Camaro, etc. So I hope plenty of them will be around for a while. The quietness of the EV actually let's you enjoy hearing every bit of throttle input of the straining ICE vehicle next to you.

Electric vehicles are not the perfect solution to reducing dependence on fossil fuels.

By the time electric energy is available in the EV, quite a few - intensely polluting - phases have to occur.

Worth reading.

BMW is copying Tesla's battery design, much to the chagrin of Tesla haters here

Rare earth minerals aren't actually rare, we have a huge amount here in the States. What is the problem, currently, is people not wanting mines in their states due to the dirty nature of mining. You can mine these minerals in a cleaner way, but it is expensive, so currently no one does.
I think this it what Tesla wants to do in Texas with first in the US clean mining.

The larger issue is that these new batteries won't be fully utilized until 2025. They're also just going to pass along the cost to customers. Tesla just submitted an application for a lithium refinery in Texas. Cost reduction always wins.

I wonder whose really in the mood for a 3 series with a 50K base price…

So basically BMW threw in the towel and will adopt the Tesla 4680 form factor.

EV's are meant to reduce emissions which also reduces the dependency of fossil fuels for that market. It is but one prong of a multi_prong approach to reduce local and by extension worldwide emissions.

Atleast there will be no panel gaps when the car is assembled, bmw has learnt it all from Apple, you don't need to be first, make it better!

And those safety standards diligence and software testing that long time auto makers do has no substitute.

I don't think people bash Tesla for their batteries. People bash Tesla because the company focuses on stupid things like fart noises, yoke steering wheels, removing all buttons in interiors, etc rather than focusing on actually improving the quality of their vehicles. The build quality is still embarrassingly bad, features most drivers take for granted like automatic wipers still don't work properly, the music interface is archaic, no blind spot warning etc, and FSD is still half baked. They have succeeded to date largely in spite of their incompetence but the days of them being the only game in town are dwindling down.

If they are so incompetent and their cars so bad how come they grow 50% year over year and have a 30% profit margin ?

Because legacy automakers are having difficulties building enough of their EV's to meet demand.

Gotta love than fan motor tech.. but a base 4 or 6 cyl model Mustang, Camaro, or Challenger will beat a Plaid or any other EV on a full-day drive.

Anyone who wants to try cool mods or add-ons for minecraft, I advise this site. There is a very large collection of mods in terms of improving mechanics, loot and items. The best site so far https://99minecraft.com/mods/yunomak...1-12-1-1-11-2/
