New grill
Any recommendations about grill. Have a weber thats been in service for long time, 20 years I think. Looked at some new weber genesis as well as napolean, swiss grill, and others. Was thinking of going with a gas that could be used with charcoal as well like napolean but now leaning towards a pellet for more flavor and seems easy to use as well.

I was confused when I read the title of your post, I thought you were talking about the kidney shaped ones on the front of your car, not a new BBQ.

I love my Mak grill. I have the 1 star general and it always works well. It took a while to make my wife stop using the gas grill because it's quicker to heat up, but the food tastes so much better on the pellet grill. Also one thing of note- there's no direct flame on a pellet grill/smoker so grease fires are a non issue. Especially if you cook whole chickens, chicken thighs, steaks or burgers on it. You still get the grill marks, just no burn spots and a much more even heat surface area.

I believe they make many sizes. I don't own one, just have friends that do. One of them built a masonry fixture around a larger one as a dedicated part of his patio. Another had a smaller variation on his porch. I believe you can also get accessories like a smoker. I've never had a bad meal off of one.

I replaced a 13 year old Weber Genesis Gold with a Lion grill 2 Christmas seasons ago. I like it ok overall and think it's build quality is high, but still struggle with the evenness of heat across the grill. All grills have spots hotter than others but this one seems too uneven to me. Maybe I just got used to the Weber or it is the reality of a larger grill. If I had to do it again, I'd probably save a little money and get a new Weber to be honest. (But don't tell my wife...)

I have a Weber Genesis S-330 that I've been using since 2012. I can't say a single negative thing about it. Really great BBQ.

I really like mine. (Kaman Joe, so it's a red egg) It's about as versatile as an outdoor cooking source can get. It's basically an outdoor charcoal oven/grill. Everything we cook on it tastes great and is done quickly and easily.
Doubt i'll ever go back to a gas grill. Mine lights up and is ready to cook in about 10-15 min with little to no supervision during that time. Typically light it, go back outside to close the lid in 5 min. Put the grill grates on after 5 more min. Go get the food, thermometer, utensils from the kitchen and it's ready.

RIGHT? Because nothing ever comes out of my grill tasting good unless I season with Jack, or Climax, or something. And by season, I mean ME |

I have a gas Turbo from BBQs Galore. Love it. Very even heat, have cooked everyting from grilled lettuce to the finest Texas prime steaks. Have slow cooked prime rib. Grill shrimp and corn on the cob regularly. We grill year round in San Antonio....don't know how I'd cook without it. Replacement parts easy to get on line. Highly recommended.
