Dating Different Culture

i was born and raised in a town with not many asians. growing up i was always attracted to and dated white chicks. now in my 30s and under quarentine, i find myself finding all the things i hated about asian culture now becoming attractive.

i remember as a kid every time i went to korea i hated being there - i hated how the korean dress, kpop, etc; and for those who are korean, i am talking about visiting from a kid remembering catching these dragon fly looking things and making them fight one another or street fighter for 500 won coin .

maybe just a phase or lonesome during quarantine but have any of you also dated outside your culture and ultimately came back to your routes?

case in point, i find this type super attractive now when before nothing.... maybe i should visit korea again

I'm Indian American, born and raised here to 1st gen immigrants. Personally I've always appreciated my culture but have also made a lot of fun at other Indian people over the years lol. I notice a lot of people from a similar upbringing tend to only hang out with other Indians or actively avoid Indians. I've always just gotten along with who I gel with regardless of race.

When it comes to girls, I've always preferred Indian chicks due to cultural similarities. Unfortunately what I'm finding to be more common now are Indian chicks who refuse to date men from their own race. A lot of them dislike their own culture/heritage and only want to use it at their convenience for say a "Bollywood" themed wedding. Racism sucks, especially when it's from your own.

^ its that lack of culture similarity i find made it difficult dating a white chick at times from past experiences. fine at first but over time it just becomes more of an issue.

i agree with you korean girls in tri state rarely date other koreans as well haha.
i found every time i went to korea, there was resentment towards me because i am western; over time i just developed this anti-korean attitude.

ive been to a few indian weddings and can say they can get quiet lively .

Never hate my own culture. Always found Asian women attractive. White women can be super hot but I feel like it gets old after a while. Too bad nowadays everybody finds Asian women attractive. I gotta wife me a white girl just to even things out.

I'm pretty seasoned as in age wise. ABC...American Born Chinese.

I don't discriminate on who I've dated. I've dated quite a few white women. I think there's that exotic yet familiar aura gong on with me. I look sort of Asian but everyone thinks I'm mix. The 6'5" frame I have throws people off. Plus my demeanor and lack of an accent harkens to the familiarity of being American.

That said. My ex wife is Polish.

The other types of women I've dated: Jamaican/Barbadan, Thai/Swiss, Black, Peruvian, Vietnamese, Korean, and Chinese.

I did get into a phase where I went hardcore to get back in touch with my culture. Watched a ton of the Chinese "soap operas" to get more fluent in Cantonese. Got involved with the local Chinese cultural community and did things with them. Ultimately got involved in playing on one of the competitive 9 man volleyball teams with a historic past.

Now, I don't give a crap where you're from. If you have some things I find attractive and you mesh with my "frame", then we'll hang out. I've learned some things these past few months from someone I've been following on Youtube. And the thing I repeat to myself everyday...."Chase excellence not women." "Women should be a complement to your life not the focus." To me, very sage words and have given me a whole new perspective.

^ i dated a polish girl a little bit as well, other than the polish staples like periogi and kebasa, did she ever make you borsch? its like a purple beat soup that literally took half a day to make . there was also a cabbage wrapped thing with rice and some meat which is similar to a kimchi wrap.

I think basically the dating cultures are very different into the countries where they are located. My parents took care that I never judge somebody by color or ethnics at first glance and so I was open minded to any nation who was willing to date me.
Hence the european and the american habits and 'rules' are too different at some parts of dates Im quite sure that a successful date would be difficult
Most asians are almost too polite or too shy when taking vacations here and wont step onto a date offer, bad enough.
But I wont complain anyway, Im out of this since years and still hoping that my Mrs would stay by my side.

personality differences/harmony that concerning a possible long term match plays a bigger role than the cultural difference in opinion.. cultural difference can be switched as a chance to experience something new to enjoy instead of concentrating the difference per se.. (first time ever used per se in a phrase i hope i used it right.. )

I've dated women from a variety of races, each attractive in their own way. To me race isn't really a big factor for me vs. personality and their body type.

My mom is American and my Dad is Moroccan. I'm white, but I kind of have that middle eastern look with dark eyes and brown hair. I found myself attracted to blondes with blue eyes when I was younger, but ultimately I married a Jew.
