I love it. The 35mm f1.4 is much easier to focus for some reason than the 85mm f1.4. They're super sharp lenses, though. I have a Katzeye focus screen in my T1i. Makes it much easier to focus manually.

Nice shot, Reed. Don't get zapped.

My sister and I were standing on a balcony in Houston watching a T-storm once and a bolt came right by the front of the balcony. It was so close we heard the loud buzz before the bang. We almost killed each other trying to get back inside and our hair was standing straight up. Scared the s**t out of us.

Actually, it's funny you say the buzz because I had one shot where about 3/4 of the picture was blown out and what there was of buildings on the ground looked like day time. I think a bolt hit my building when I took the shot.

I could hear whirring and buzzing it was interesting.

other times when there wasn't lightning I was seeing weird streamers going by, looked like really really faint lightning. Not sure what it was, but it was interesting, it was a hell of a storm. I'm sad I didn't get more shots. I'll call that my inexperience. I had it more dialled in towards the end.

Reed, I hope you don't mind... but the first thing that came to mind when I saw your photo, like Mark, was tilt-shift.

I think it would've been a more dramatic tilt-shift effect if there was less of the sky, and the camera was tilted a little more down towards the city.

mark you get any of the nasty weather last night or too far south?

I heard a lot of peeps in the far south (like kankakee) got hail. I know ur like 2 hrs further south of there but just wondering how bad it was.

The GF slaps me if I do.

She kept running all over the place and up and down the stairs and wouldn't sit still. The 2 seconds she stopped long enough for me to take a picture she sticks her tongue out at me . That's the thanks I get for adopting her.

Nope, nothing bad here. I saw the storms just to the north of Champaign yesterday morning, but they never moved south. We had a small line of storms blow through this morning, but they're gone now.
