So, I’ve recently been more and more interested in Formula 1, where do I start to learn more about it? Thanks know a few of the drivers names and know (for the most part) what teams there on, but that’s it really. Any suggestions on where to learn more about it? Or anything I should know?

and go to SPORT. WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS. FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP. Additionally at the FIA site check out KARTING. and under CIRCUIT chk out the feeder series leading up to F1. Be sure under FIA Fornula One World Championship hit the SHOW MENU tab and review the regulations. There is a lot of history in formula one and studying (or getting a good book about ) Ferrari grand prix racing and then the change to Formula 1 is a great read. Also reading about Mercedes grande prix and then formula 1 is educational. Of course a good book about BMW formula 1 engines (history) should be very interesting and educational. |

F1 app has summaries and replays of all the seasons from the 70s till present. They also have interviews and specials on some of the drivers.
I agree also with Drive To survive on Netflix. Some of it is over dramatized but overall is very good. |

If you are interested in the technical side of it:
https://twitter.com/ScarbsTech Scarbs is really good at dissecting car updates https://www.f1technical.net/forum/ Good info in here but lots of fanboy bickering at times |

The Formula 1 YouTube Channel often posts "Top 10" compilation type videos that date quite far back with a narration giving you some history of memorable or historic moments. Can learn some quick facts that way in video format.
This past season they were also posting technical videos explaining the engineering side of things in laymen terms with demos and such. I found those quite interesting and informative. |

I'm pretty sure that 'LEW will be in trouble , as political expressions of opinion are forbidden in the 2023 season .

Netflix drive to survive gives you understanding of what it is to run a team and how elite you have to be - THE 20 Best drivers in the world.
Then get F1 subscription, cost $50 for new users I think, gives you exceptional access to tons of contents, past races (condensed highlights too) and you can love stream ever practice, qualifying and race. F1 tv has tech talks, insights. Watch the practices and qualifying and focus on the commentary; there is so much great insight into the sport and engineering during those discussions; that’s peobably where I learned the most. What’s keen to grasp os there are many layers to F1 and why I think its so appealing to so many people. Layers as in thematic areas based in interest, so of you just want to see drivers compete, well it has that, want to see the greatest engineering the world has to offer, has that, the battle of F1 really being a “team sport” and how that works. want to see pit crew and teams accomplish amazing feats refactoring the cars from race to race and practice session to eek performance, it has that - want to see amazing strategies play our or implode, it has that…. Risk reward bets at every turn, scary crashes that drivers walk away from without a scratch, competitive spirit at the highest level, and on top of all that - it’s extremely civilized, respectful, these drivers pretty much all grew up together as toddler karters and could be teammates next season. and the drama and politics which there is a lot, however its all about F1, not other BS outside the sport. So jump in with F1TV watching practices, trch talks and Netflix series from first season and you’ll learn so much. It takes time too, years of being a fan I still learn new stuff everyday, its very rewarding in that sense. There’s no other sport that has all this and so much more Agree woth others on thr youtube channels like drive61, however i found those were better for when I wanted to know a very specific thing, like is an F1 faster than nascar or a particular rule or what an MKU is. |

Drive To Survive: The first seasons were interesting, now it's just a pretty much exaggerated theatrical reality show just to attract more and more viewers. I'm not a fan(anymore) Cheers Robin |

I see many videos of folks on this forum doing track day HPDE events and Time Trial events while wearing no fire rated driving gloves or even an FIA fire rated driver's suit, not to mention nomex underwear, while at the same time having spent tens of thousands on mods for their cars i.e. track wheels, track tires, big brakes, aero, motor, tunes, exhaust, seats, etc. etc. Anybody venturing out onto any track for a high speed event should see this video. I've said it before, "it's hard to put a fire out with your bare hands". As a professional driver, Grosjean probably had the benefit of training and knew not to take deep breaths to avoid damage to his lungs from smoke inhalation and searing heat, as well as to do his best to try and remain calm. That's assuming he wasn't unconscious. He survived, but look at all the safety gear he was wearing. An act of God.
