...especially when they are confusing reputation score with some sort of magic reply count?

Wait until they find out that they need a 500 rep to get the fix for the infected maps/coding info that bricks their cars.....

Well, I'm not claiming to be better than all those users with single digit post count, which seem to make up the majority of that thread.

You're probably right.
Now, the alternative is to go to one of the 100s sellers online with prices going from a few $ to a few 100s, but where are their maps or code from? How is that safer?

I'm not trying to justify anything here, just pointing out how difficult it is when you're new to the BMW world, to find your way :-)
