I get a 403 Forbidden to access error

Right now, I get a 403 Forbidden to access error on both my PC and my cell phone on the same wifi. I had to switch to another IP address via VPN to be able to see/access the Bimmerpost site. I am not "banned", so what could be the issue?

In the past two months there have been numerous site outages at random times, not just at the 2am EDT site backup/updates.

I tested on my cell phone on 5G/LTE cell data on the road and I can access. At home using my wifi I cannot access the forum, I get 403 Forbiden error. Can you check please?

When I change to the different IP address on the same wifi network using VPN, then I can access again. I tried a different browser Firefox (and Chrome) and both. So my IP Address is blocked by Bimmerpost.

My IP Address is blocked by Bimmerpost. I used two different browsers Chrome and Firefox, and the same 403 Forbidden. I also released my IP address and renewed it.

I am only able to type this using VPN.

I didn’t resolve it on my end. Something that Bimmerpost did to fix it. I don’t know if there was an error during their updates, or somebody accidentally added me to the blocked list?

Thanks for the quick reply.

Turns out something similar happened on my end. I wrote the the hosts and after explaining the situation in now no longer get the 403 Forbidden error. All good now.

I don't remember if I get 403 error but I also cannot access this website anymore from my workplace. Been like that for a few weeks now.

If really for a few weeks then it makes you wonder if your work is blocking it

I know it's not blocked by like the firewall/website blocker. I get that workplace blocked page on other websites that are blocked. On E90 post it's different.

What happens is that the page just doesn't load, I get the web browser error page that can't reach/load the website, I can't remember the exact error code I'd have to check at work again and report back.

I can comment on posts but I cannot see the pms. It shows me that I have 2 pms yet when I click on them the screen turns blurry almost immediately. Is this from my browser Brave or is it on the Bimmerpost side?

Ok it looks like its a bug on the app (not website). Ive corrected the bug, and will publish the fix on the app store within a few days.

If you still need it, I did a screen recorder of everything I mentioned. It also says no connection even though I'm logged in and I def have internet connectivity. I'm going to toggle wifi on and off to see if that changes anything. Thanks for the help!

Let’s try the new version and see if it also helps with the connection issue. The two might be related. It usually takes only 1-2 days for an app update to get approval so hopefully it will be soon 👍
