Same here. We saw record profits last year. Problem is our numbers from last year skewed our forecast of this year. Because we saw record sales last year, due to the pandemic, our numbers were not aligned accurately going in this fiscal year. We are seeing higher numbers than FY18-19, but corporate did not consider several factors of last years unprecedented numbers. We've been chasing our tail all year to meet the goals set forth. Over all the company is seeing astronomical numbers, but at the plant level....not so much.

They probably figure the shareholders are more valuable than the employees. I think that's usually the case. It's bullshit.

Certainly the interpretation that is easiest to conclude.

There's no thinking when the knowing is right in our faces. But what are we going to do, quit? We're all expendable peasants.

Isn't this the epitome of stupid when it comes to corporate forecasts? How can the "experts" not take into account all of the factors that played a huge role in earnings? It doesn't take a brain surgeon to understand that things have been out of whack the past couple of years and that it can't stay on the same track forever. Just take a look at industries like automotive? It might take years for them to fully recover and reach inventories they were at just a few years ago. Electronics industry, probably the same.

Rental cars? Lol. If anything, the pandemic showed everyone just how weak we are and how reliant we are on only a few eggs in the basket. I hope this serves as a wake up call but I'm afraid it won't. Oh but hey, Mark Zuckerberg would like us all to believe things are just fine because we're all entering the metaverse. Cue the circle jerk party.

Similar boat as y'all as far as increased work load and one man show. Luckily we are experiencing exponential growth, so the compensation part isn't an issue.

Not the case on this side unfortunately. Production workers got wage increases in the past month to facilitate retention. None of the salaried employees have seen increases (aside from annual) in at least 5 years.

Gentlemen,

As of Tuesday Nov 9 I am a single man. Broke up with her after almost 15 months.

I know I've been away and I come in with this but I hope no hard feelings for not updating you guys in the mean time.

Haven't even dealt with the break up myself, saying it was easier than the next few days knowing I'm outtie. Nor have I dealt with any fallout; I have so much of her stuff etc I'm in a messy situation at the moment. I'm just venting at this point...

But: yes. I am a single man, once again.

You still have a bunch of her stuff at your apartment? Make sure you're not alone when she comes to collect it

If that was my only option for food, I wouldn’t complain. Oh wait, that was my only food option for a time, and I was glad to have them. Now at home, I’ve planned ahead and I have boxes of survival food that will last me and the girls for 2 months. And, they are the yummy ones. For water, I have big filters. So, we can filter water out of Lake Sherwood.

That's straight bad advice.

What you should be doing is selling her stuff on eBay!

First things first - you (and a few others) were right, spending that summer together was a baaaaaaaad idea. But obviously one doesn't really plan for a breakup so she left all her winter stuff and books here.

I asked about her stuff - she said I can donate or I'm welcome to sell other than two old books her dad gave her. Those books I'm gonna ship out on Saturday. I don't think I have the heart yet to take the rest to goodwill, but I will be boxing them up. Out of sight out of mind (hopefully)

Honestly, both. I'm ok with it because I'm the one who said let's end it, but I'm also not ok with it because I miss having a close friend. That's something I noticed this morning - I miss not having a friend accessible more than miss having a girlfriend... I know why I broke up (and I'll detail it in a few days here too if anyone's interested), so I know I'm not going back.

I think we were terrible for each other, and probably since June when I blurted out let's end it (at least since then) the relationship has been pretty dead. It just got to a point where we were both telling each other the other person makes us miserable and at that point, what's the reason yknow? Then she tried putting moving here to Chicago on me and solely on me... she got a great offer at a tech company that we all use. Must suck having to work at a big tech firm making $170k total compensation fresh out of college Lots of gaslighting from a now-ex-future Mrs. Pickle was happening.

I know on my end this was something I was kinda preparing myself to doing in the past few weeks. I did however plan on doing it when she was to visit this weekend rather than on the phone on Tuesday. Kinda sucks I didn't get/give one last hug (and more) but it is what it is.

I've learned a lot from this relationship don't get me wrong, both in terms of what I want and what I don't want, what to do and what not to do. That was a big one - just because we want it to work doesn't mean it is a good idea. I wasn't getting what I wanted, and so I was not feeling like giving what she wanted. I'm sure she felt the same way too.

Guys and Sara, I know you all gonna be disappointed. I’m away for a few days at the Pebble Beach house, by myself. I’m here for the vintage Formula 1 races at Laguna Seca. So, I probably won’t be posting for a few days. I’ll try to post some pictures in The Cool Pic thread. The girls are having a two night slumber party with their friends. It’s pretty much just one big, well you’ll just have to use your imagination. I’ll let you all know if I happen to meet some women up here. The pickins’ are pretty good up here. Ciao for now!

Each successive relationship teaches you exactly that. The more you experience, the more you're able to fine tune your involvements. Assuming you're honest with yourself about what you truly need and what you're willing to give, you'll fine a good match.

That's the biggest take away man. Had that same learning experience after 6 years, but now makes me extremely picky because knowing what you will and won't accept create some hard lines. It's a good thing though, it sucks at first but you'll find yourself happier. Sure it's nice having someone around, but it's a lot nicer not walking on egg shells 24/7 in lieu of the sparing "good" moments.

Plus now you'll have more money and free time for better things.
