At least in US the fine police (especially the LA force) service give a chance for armed crims to surrender.
Over here a car that came up on a spy cam to have been used carrying a gun was cornered and the unarmed driver shot dead in the car through the head by an armed cop apparently without being given a chance to surrender, this is near the hotspot of Brixton,South London where there have already been two riots in the past through police brutality and the 'investigation' into why he was shot is ongoing. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/wires/pa...amily-say.html Last edited by M5Rick; 12-23-2022 at 07:18 AM.. |

Generally the speed limit in Canada is 100KHM, but in some places 110KMH. I won't tell you that you'll never get a ticket but usually 120kmh is a safe speed to avoid the dreaded coupon.

Another sad day for Law Enforcement in Canada. a rookie police officer who just came off probation and was on his first solo shift was shot to death by a POS who was out on bail for assault police and possession of an illegal handgun. Here is a video of the officers remains arriving at the Office of the Chief Coroner with escort. RIP Brother.

Have you/someone else ever allowed/been tempted to let a person have the last punch? For example, responding to a domestic where a wife caught her husband cheating… and she was throwing shoes at him/taking a pair of scissors to his Armani suit…

To add to this, the legal system should've prevented this tragedy (...if it were operating as intended). The suspect had an extensive criminal history that included previously killing a California Highway Patrol K-9, assault and weapons charges, etc. He was supposed to be serving life in prison, but a San Bernardino County judge reduced his bail TWICE. That judge should be ashamed of themselves.

This nonsense of releasing people on bail who are facing serious violent charges has to stop on both sides of the border. Governments and the courts job is supposed to be to protect society, not feed them to the wolves. |

Funniest comment you’ve heard in court?
For example, Judge: “I thought I said that I never wanted to see you in here again.” Criminal: “That’s what I kept telling the arresting officer, but he wouldn’t listen.” |

I had traffic court a few months ago where the defendant started berating the judge and was on the verge of issuing a threat. Yeah, that didn't work out too well for him. I just shook my head.

Are there plans to go electric in future?
Imagining a pursuit vehicle that can catch perps etc. With Tesla Plad reaching 60 in 2 seconds... I was reading about how many officers are not trained to drive with high acceleration such as Tesla level. Neither is the public for that matter. More and more civilians are trying to adapt to faster drivers. Whether they are crossing the street or driving a car. Speed is the number one killer on the roads. I wonder if there will be a decrease in speeding tickets if vehicles are not upgraded and not able to keep up. On the flip side it could have huge benefits if police went electric first. Hope that makes sense. More and more EV vehicles are becoming available and within reach of unskilled and careless drivers. I have a blind friend and he really struggles with ‘silent killers’ aka EV. |
