2023 Alfa Romeo C43 F1 Showcar For Sale

That was quick lol

The 2023 Alfa C43 Showcar (SHOWCAR.C43-01) used at the cars launch is up for sale.

The car has a current bid of £103,000 and 30 bids over the past week. The auction ends February 21, and included with the car are the race suits that Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu were wearing during the cars launch. Due to this being the showcar, it doesn’t run, so your basically buying a shell. You can find the auction here, with more information on car.

So the shell is made to the exact spec of 2023 car (including all carbon fiber and not clay)?

Competitor can buy this show car and steal the aerodynamic stuff

Maybe, but as most of the cars for this season are already revealed or scheduled to be released within a month, and with a years worth of improvements for next years cars, I wouldn’t think any team would jump on this.

Ok, Alfa finished 6th last year. But seriously, who’d steal those hot secrets ? Williams ?

The parts alone are worth considerably more than 100,000 pounds, why wouldn't they just keep it for spares parts?

My assumption is that they were hoping to get more then 100k for it, and they might have, but the link doesn’t work anymore so there’s no way to know for sure. It is (was?) the only 2023 F1 car listed, making it very valuable and likely to sell at a higher price. Having said that, the last time o checked the auction the highest bid was only £103,000, I’m sure they were expecting more. It’s not a running car, there are no internal parts, the only parts that would be used for spares would be the body and tires. My guess is that they already have enough parts and decided to try to sell this as they had no need for it, expecting to at least break even.
