Question for Omega buffs

I recently started looking for my first real watch (my current is a ~$300 Luminox 1879). I'm looking to spend between 2k and 3k, so I'm looking at the second hand market.

I found a few crazily priced Tags that I liked before I found this Omega:



This thing is way out of my price range (12k I think) but I love the way this looks. I want to pick up a used Speedmaster and recreate this look (mainly black with red accents).

The hardest part so far is finding an Omega with "Speedmaster" in red. I can find them on Omega's site but I'm not seeing any used with the text in red. As far as the case being black, once I have the right watch and band, I'll either live the silver case or send it off to someone to be coated.

The question is: Is there something I can look for to find models with the red Speedmaster text? Is it after a certain year or a certain generation they started doing it? Only certain models? Tried to Google it but either my Google-Fu is weak in this scenario or the search terms are just too vague to come up with anything useful.

It's a Limited Edition, I doubt you will find one similar

I just need a black dial with "Speedmaster" in red. That's not exclusive to this limited edition. I just don't know when Omega started doing that and if it's limited to certain variations/years/generations of the Speedmaster.

Nope you are out of luck. Only the dark side of the moon has it, and maybe other limited edition Speedmasters

I'm trying to figure out if there's a more productive search or something I can look for to keep my eye out for one. Something other than just looking at every Speedmaster visually, to check to see if it has the red logo.

i have a speedy triple cal; i think Speedy's are GORGEOUS!!!, but you will be VERY hard pressed to find that strap available separately... if it could be bought (cordura with red stitching) i would own it already.

i've seen a limited edition rubber strap with speedmaster written in yellow and i even took down the model number and googled it but you cant get them as far as i know.

However, it seems that you can more easily get what you are looking for from Tag and for less money.

i think you should hunt this one:



it will be right in your price range or slightly above. there is one in titanium with a carbon face and the red stiching on the strap for 30% off at the Tag dealer near me (in Canada though).. i think that's where you need to be

Thanks for the reply. The strap isn't a worry for me. I actually like the inside of that strap more than the cordera part. I'm planning on just getting something with black leather and red stitching. Similar to what's on that Tag. I was really just looking for a mostly black Omega with red accents. I like the idea of the black dial, bezel and leather strap with red logo and stitching.

I like the Tags as well but I still think I like the Omega more. I'll probably end up that direction if I can't find the one I'm looking for.

An Omega boutique or authorized dealer will be able to tell you the upcoming Speedmaster with red logo

I have not seen them on non-limited editions

I appreciate the help but looking for upcoming releases isn't going to help me much as I'm looking to buy second hand. I'm trying to find a list of the PAST Omegas with red logos. Not new ones that haven't come out yet.

Are the 4 I linked above all limited editions? If so, I don't know what qualifies as a limited edition.

Special releases are usually sold in limited time, the first pic u posted is the Dark Side of the Moon, and the last two pics are the Broad Arrows
