Gotta respond to give props to the Starion, I've had one or more of those since 1991.

I now have a company vehicle for commuting, and the M760i is my weekender. The company vehicle was the catalyst. Prior to company car I never could justify the idea of owing and driving a weekender for practicality reasons. I'll be keeping the M760i for a long time.

The 328 is my daily so I can weekend my Wrangler. But at 270,000 miles I don't trust the Jeep to get me anywhere on a schedule except the beach.

Until I sold my M2C for trade on a M4C (waiting on that now) the M2C was my summer/weekend car. My winter car is a 2010 328i xDrive. At least I have a fun car to drive while I am waiting it out!

I've had 4 (and one parts car), and loved them all. In fact, if money were no object and I could build any car I wanted to, it'd be a 1990 Starion GSR-VR in Balt Blue.

My last couple were super nice, and I wish I had both back, even though they were red.

Such a common refrain...

Nice choice for a dream combo. I've never seen Baltic blue in person, but looks like a great color for the car. My favorite is Fiji blue, and currently have an 88 in Figi that will get a full resto-mod for street use, and 2 others that are rather special/unique.

They have always been rare, but are now unheard of.

1989 only, Starion only, and just 54 1989 Starion ESiR's came to the US, and less than 10 Balt Blues (T80).

It's not a special color IMO, just rare. It looks like Ford blue to me.

Wow, that is a lot of miles. Assuming AMC inline 6? I see a few Jeep guys on here. Here is my 05 TJ RME I6 with 110k. She is my summer/weekend car (if that), more of a garage queen. Simple 2" BDS lift and 32" tires.

lol that looks familiar

I inherited this one from my dad who passed away a few years ago. It was his third Jeep and unfortunately did not get to enjoy it for long so I keep it just the way he left it to me.

I had heard the 1989 starion import number to the US was 149, and all were allegedly red, but I doubt that last part. Not like that makes it any less rare.

That one seems to be a Euro-spec and an 87 (non SHP wheels). I thing that color was available in 87 and 89 in the US.

If you are truly looking for a nice one, one came up for sale recently at ~32K miles, but it's red too. You can't have mine

Bro, trust me, I'm the Starion/Conquest master, 54 1989 cars came to the US (straight from the desk of Jenea Lee at Mitsubishi), and T80 Balt Blue was only produced for the '89 model year in the US (other countries got it in 1990 as well).

No exact data on specific color production numbers was kept, but there were less than 10 Balt Blue cars, some white cars as well. Most were R04 Mexican Red, but that was every year.

Balt Blue is sometimes referred to incorrectly as Tahoe Blue because of a Chrysler manual it appeared in, but the Conquest never came in that color, and the correct name is Balt Blue.

I'm not looking for another one at the moment, I have no space.

I have pictures of a USA Balt Blue car on my computer at home. Hard to find that stuff in google searches now.

I only own fun cars that are limited use. Work from home.. the 911 pretty much only comes out to go to the track or the mountain twisties. The M2 is as close to a daily as I have but realistically I only drive it 2-3 days a week.

Nice, is that a lost twin or cousin?! Haha, looks great for that many miles. Looks like he kept good care of it. Sorry for your loss, but it is a nice way to remember your Dad. I also lost my Dad a couple years ago .

Having a weekend car is great because I can get a sports car that doesn't have to compromise on the driving experience. My Miata perfectly counterbalances my daily. It's cheap, reliable, and features all the things I love that you can't really get in modern cars anymore (cable throttle, fantastic manual, hydraulic steering, etc.)

Did Mitsubishi make some sort of a deal with Toyota to use the Supra wheels? The only difference I see is the 4 vs. 5 lugs.

I've never had a weekend car, but I've had "rainy day" appliances to use when it rains or when I need to shuttle more than one. But I never had a car only to be used on the weekends or special occasions, I've just had other vehicles for practical reasons...or because I didn't feel like cleaning my fun car so I'd drive the appliance if I expected rain (or ice, or snow, etc.).

But now, with multiple ride-sharing apps which don't seem to be going anywhere and the advent of Turo, I'm no longer keeping a car simply for practicality. It'll be cheaper for me to simply rent a car (or use Uber/Lyft) when I need to drive multiple people around, or if a major storm is coming. Owning an SUV or sedan 365 days/year just to have it for when I need to move or haul people is no longer making fiscal sense with car payments, insurance fees, increased emissions regulations, etc.

And now I just drive my fun cars in the rain and clean them up afterward.

So, I'm going all in...only fun cars for me from here on out. I'll rent the proverbial appliance when I need it (or I'll borrow from family or friends).

No deal was made, but IIRC the wheels were both made by the same manufacturer in Japan, so they are similar. But if you get close, they are much different than just 4-5 lug.

So I joined the weekend club earlier this year, I was very torn on the issue as I have one garage and I am a bit of a tight arse. So far, the car itself is excellent on good roads, it is not a fan of rough, shitty roads and unfortunately that is what I have around me. Regardless, it has been a lot of fun with the top down and kiddies on board.

I will say, as much as I like having something a bit special, I am not yet 100pc sure this is the right way to go. Option 2 is to sell my DD (13 yr old Saab wagon), sell the 997 and buy a compromise like a stang vert or a e92 vert and DD that.
