Photos of my Lexus IS-F and other photos I've taken

Here are a few pictures I took after work today. I took these with a Nikon D300 using a Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 lens and 10-20 mm for the last shot. I took these photos using a remote trigger and the camera was on a Manfrotto carbon fiber tripod with ball mount with a quick release lever. They were post processed in Aperture on my Macbook Pro.

Taken with Sigma 10-20 mm

OMG I love the last shot!

Is it really that wide? I'm thinking about investing in full-frame lenses right now, but the Nikon name-brand is just too much for me. How satisfied are you with the Sigma 24-70mm?

YES... you know that was the last picture and forgot that particular one was taken with the Sigma 10-20 mm lens. I'd love to get the Nikon glass but you're right, it's pretty costly. I'm happy with my Sigma lenses so far. Yes I'm pretty happy with my 24-70. I'd buy it again! I think sigma actually has a smaller profile 24-70 f/2.8 out now. The one I have is longer.

Yeah I found two different Sigma 24-70mm lenses, but I'm not sure which one I should get if I were to get one.

Wow I never looked at the price of the 2nd one before (smaller profile). I have the first one. Despite being heavy and bulky, I'm happy with the results! They are both f/2.8! I'd buy the lens I have again.

Seems like you're familiar with Sigma lenses. If it has HSM, does that mean the focusing is built-in? If it is, is it fast?

Good question. My D300 has an AF motor to drive the lens if the lens doesn't actually have one. I'll have to research that. But yes the HSM will have the AF motor.

I have the D300, too. I'm just worried about focusing speeds on built-in motors. I had a bad experience with Tamron's motors.

I only have 1 Tamron Lens. It's the 90 mm f/2.8 1:1 Macro lens. Overall I've been pretty happy with it. There's even a limit switch in case you're not doing macro shots. If you're shooting something that always moves then it could be a problem. Most of the shots I've posted are objects or things that don't really move.

I was lucky to get this shot of the hummingbird.

Taken with Nikon's 55-200 with VR

Awesome pics of the IS-F. The paint looks like it was just sprayed and still wet! I love black cars when they are in that kind of condition. The problem is keeping them clean and swirl free. After one experience owning a black vehicle, I'm not sure I'm going to do another one. Although a 911 in flat black would kick ass.....

Thanks for the compliment. Not all of these are HDR. The one's that are HDR is the

1) IS-F with the church in the background
2) The Gazebo type building
3) The lake with the dark clouds
4) The building with the dramatic skye
5) Audi R8's

I usually take 9 exposures!

It's at an increment of 1 however I think I'll shoot 0.7 next time. 1 I think can be too much.
