Early signing period

So today is the first day of the early signing period. While we never know how good these kids will be until the make it to practice and game time, it is fun to watch, particularly now with the early period. How is your team doing?

Canes have 8 signed by 9am with more expected today. Will be good to see most of the class locked in with a few spots open for February. Richt and team doing well. Hopefully, they stay out of trouble and class lives up to potential. (We already lost top 3 ranked players from 2016 class to transfers and stupidity.)

A&M is having a slow start today with only two players signed so far...but that's somewhat expected with the recent coaching change. I think I heard that out of the ~15 players committed so far, about half plan to sign during the early period, with the rest waiting until February

Canes up to 15 with hopefully a few more to go today (unless some positive surprises happen), with the remainder in February.

Slow start with the Noles, two for us as well. Canes are killin' it right now.

Looks like Canes signed 18 out of 20 commits today. One DL who didn't sign today reportedly did so to take his official visit with 2-3 of his high school teammates in January, so he and hopefully his teammates sign in February. That would be a great package deal. The other is a solid OL who I read might be a flight risk (hopefully not). They filled a lot of needs today with more spots still available for February.

Now if we could keep guys from leaving early when they could benefit from staying, we'd be getting somewhere.

My LSU Tigers signed 18 out of 21 commits with one scheduled for tomorrow and one for Friday.

Damn, Coach O and Mark Richt are locking down their classes early! A&M ended up with 8 out of 15 signing today, not sure if any more plan to sign tomorrow or Friday.

Yes, Kirby Smart is turning Georgia into the Alabama of the SEC East. Likely to be those two meeting in Atlanta more often than not in the coming years...

Not a total surprise. Change always gives these kids pause, especially if the coach who recruited them leaves. While this year might be challenging I have no doubt Jimbo will turn that around quickly.

The OL signed today so that's 19 in early signing period. They have plenty of scholarships available for February so hope we add a few more on OL, DL and a highly rated DB or two even though we already signed a few yesterday.

It was a nice get for FSU with Woodbey but what blows my mind is that Jimbo Fisher never gave this kid the time of day even when Woodbey voiced his interest in FSU.

We'll see how my Noles end up. From an all time low at 64th rank, it will be a miracle if we finish close to the top 10.
