STi owner sayin hi...now with more BMW goodness!
I didn't see a "Newb" forum or anything so I thought I'd just post something in off-topic. ALthough I would hardly consider myself a newb, as I'm a moderator over at IWSTI.
I always like lurking on other car forums just so I can keep up to date on everything going on in the car world as I'm definitely a car junkie. My career has really taken off in the past year so I'm thinking about adding another car to the lineup. Everytime I decide what I want I change my mind. A 335i, E46 M3, E92 M3 have all been candidates multiple times. I figure winter is around the corner so there's no point in pullin the trigger on anything until spring. Until then I'll be switching my mind back and forth between an M3, Z06, EVO X, 135, etc, etc. I can't decide what role I want the new car to play alongside the STi. I've got way too much in the STi to get rid of it at this point. And for fun I guess I might as well throw up my dyno sheet Last edited by Muffnbluff; 07-29-2009 at 09:05 PM.. |

Someone didn't read my post! I'm actually a moderator on IWSTI and I recognize the HSPN car because that used to be Ben's car who used to run IWSTI. |

i despise your ample aftermarket support and the relative inexpensiveness of your parts compared to ours. I bite my thumb at you sir.
welcome from a former wrx driver |

Is that common with STI's? I know the intercooler is top mount from factory. Its the first time ive seen one with a front mount lol. So you can get rid of that scoop now?

Back in my WRX days some of the guys with FMICs would swap hoods with a 2.5RS (no scoop). Take out the big wing and WRX/STi badge and you have a hell of a sleeper.

Most people in the WRX community will upgrade to a FMIC if they go with a significantly bigger turbo. I could prob get away with a bigger TMIC with my turbo, but I wanted the added safety of the FMIC in the summer. |

Nice, man! I had an '04 STi w/FP Green (3" inlet, 8 cm hotside and EWG) and all supporting mods. The car was probably good for an 11.90 1/4 before I blew it up. After that I lost love for it, took it back to stock and ordered a 135i that came in just as the new owner took delivery.
I'll definitely own another STi one day, but it'll be a stripped down, dedicated track car. Get yourself a BMW stat - you'll have no regrets (I know I don't!).
