Ceramic Coating: Opti-Coat Pro Plus vs. BMW All Surface

I’m picking up our new X5 45e this weekend.

I’ve received a quote for Opti-Coat Pro Plus ceramic coating from a local detailer.

The BMW dealer is also selling BMW’s All Surface protection, which they stated is a ceramic coating.

Both offer a 7 year warranty.

Any thoughts on which is best? I know what I’m getting with the Opti coating. I’m not familiar with BMW’s version.

Thanks!!

All ceramic coatings use the same SiO2. It's all about the surface prep and application. I would imagine different results even at the same shop, depending on who's doing the application. 80% of the job is the prep.

I would never purchase a ceramic coating from a dealer. Their detail department applies the "coating", and they are far from professionals.

Half the time, they only apply a wax. I know because I sell BMW's.

You would be better off finding a reputable detailing shop in your area.

Graphene is the latest and greatest product on the market, and it's extremely hydrophobic (water resistant). I recently had an application done, and it came out fantastic.
