Stay safe out there!
Just installed our CO detectors a month or so ago when we started using the heat again. The furnaces are the only source of CO in the house, so there was no need for them earlier.

We have smoke/heat detectors hard wired in. The heat detector is waaaay too sensitive and goes off every freakin' time we open the oven when we're cooking. The detector is on the ceiling way down the hall from the kitchen, but it goes off within 2 seconds of opening the oven. Drives us nuts.

Picked up Cayenne E-Hybrid. Paid sticker, boo. Only the 2nd time paying sticker, the $7500 tax credit helps ease the pain.

Thumbs up

I am all all about Detailing my rides. By admission, I've always been a Meguiars guy for 9ver 2 Decades. But for the last year or so, Turtle Wax entire Ceramic lineup can NOT be beat! If you're not familiar or haven't tried any, let this be your first purchase. You will NOT be disappointed... 💯

What color is the car? Looks similar to Moonstone on BMW.

Cashmere Beige Metallic

I need to take better pictures. This photo from PDI gives a better idea of the color.

Working on a project with a friend and I needed a quick and easy backup for our images and files. It stuns me that 2TB is this cheap ($70). I clearly remember paying $40k for a 768GB server. I guess that was 10-12 years ago, which is a lifetime in IT years.

I use their entire Ceramic lineup and both my cars surfaces stay slick!

Here's a nice video from a independent detailer:

Working from home for the past three years It seems like i'm burning through keyboards. Decided to invest in a Logi Mx wireless keyboard. It's not a lightweight for sure!

It's most stand out feature is the butterly soft touch keys - good god it's a joy to use!

Bought this practice soldering kit. Trying to hone my skills while learning more on diodes, resistors and circuit boards. Took me about 2 1/2 hrs to make but turned out incredible. Was nice to see how fast my soldering improved. Enjoyed it so much I ordered 3 more kits.

My first soldering experience was replacing the LEDs on my cluster with a $6 harbor freight soldering iron. It was a good thing I had extras, melted through probably six diodes by the end of it

This little practice kit sounds like a much better idea lol

Small purchase, big job

I bought this little gem a few days ago after my MB GLK350 started whining at me that the left low-beam lamp was out. I replaced the right low-beam about a year ago, so I figured I had an idea as to what I faced. Well, I was off a bit. With the GLK350, you have to first remove a ~3 inch convex cover, then reach inside the headlight module and RR the lamp by feel - you cannot see anything. Unlike the right low-beam, the left low-beam access is restricted by some plumbing (AC, I think) and some unidentified diaphragm. I managed to squeek my hand into contortions and complete the job after watching some Youtube videos. The back of my left hand was slightly swollen for a couple of days from the abuse, but I probably saved myself several hundred dollars or more by doing the job myself. Maybe a thousand bucks as some folks (shops) remove the entire headlight module package to do the job.

Well done. Some vehicles can be a real PITA to change bulbs. I simply refuse to change the headlight bulbs in my Golf. I tried it once and the only way I could even get near it was to remove the headlight assembly. That meant removing the front bumper. Never again I said. The dealer has some skinny little guy that can do it without removing the whole front of the car and they only charge $50. Money well spent IMO.

Should be replaced every 5-7 years. It’s been 6 years and the maker of the current hoses we have (Floodchek), which carry a 20 year warranty, seems to have gone out of business. Worth spending $30 to replace.
