If the local authorities did not *strongly* advise spectators to stay away due to COVID-geddon, I would most certainly be there on the grounds at KSC watching this launch in person!

Back in the shuttle days, I was on the grounds at KSC for a day shuttle launch, a night shuttle launch, and an RSLS abort at just about as close to T=0 that one could get without lighting the solid boosters and taking off. I also watched Voyager 1 launch (not from the grounds, though) in the 1970's.

Alas, I guess my only choice is NASA TV or the SpaceX stream for this truly historic launch.....

KSC is bout 37 miles east of me. Hopefully it's a clear day, should be able to watch it off my balcony.

A huge return for US-based space travel. I will be watching.

I'm somewhat expecting this launch to be delayed daily due to weather.

Not sure how the weather is up there (doesn't look good in stream) however it has been horrible here for probably a week so I'm not holding my breath.

Weather is rough around here, they might scrub it. Was even thinking about taking a ride and heading towards the coast, but I don't know now.

Yes....it is....and yes....it is. A private owned space company is sending astronauts into space. Never been done before.

There have been plenty of F1 races, football (and soccer ) games, etc. as well, but I'm sure people still get excited about going to see one live.

You must have many friends.

I usually like an excuse to head over that way and get some rock shrimp from Dixie Crossroads, but today I'm not really in the mood to deal with the traffic jams getting back to Orlando.

I missed this part, however I heard elsewhere that they were actually quarantined with their family for the 14 days or whatever it is.

Cool, I tend to end up on the west coast if getting seafood, but will have to check it out next time I'm in the area.

And as a fellow Central Floridan, I couldn't agree more. Traffic sucks; if I can help it, I like to get all my running around done by noon to limit interaction with the crazies, lol.
