That AR is so small you really crunch in and hunch a little bit to get a decent cheek weld; the buffer tube is a non-adjustable Strike Industries short pistol tube with an SB-MINI brace.

Leopard, here's the buffer spring update I recommend. It's the Armaspec Stealth Recoil assembly. I use it in all of my AR's with a standard length buffer tube. It's a drop-in unit and it works wonderfully.

Interesting opinion on zero distances. For those of you that shoot longer distances often, what do you think?

Thanks!

Btw. I just read on the range site that we were supposed to get $10 back for each of the target stands. We basically rented it. Best believe I won’t forget about it next time.

First of all: Never trust a CIA-contracted person

Serious: I wont doubt the experience of a veteran who had surely reliable results to show, but as far as I had got his explanations you can't just transfer his tips to other rifles into that class.
Basic example: If you are shooting a straight line, its just the aiming line which is direct, the bullet will leave and go slightly upwards to the ballistic line and then at dropping crossing the aiming line at a defined point of the weapon manufacturer and for sure the physics like gravity.
This is the reference point for exact aiming at all distances and placing the red dot at said positions onto the target upper or lower.
When I shoot my Scar L with a red dot at 7 yards in front of the target to said points, the bullet will go above the target caused by said differences.
All-in-all a good example how to and how to aim, but this needs more to achieve the desired points that just aim like shown in my opinion.

Shot two rounds of trap last weekend. First ever for me. Shot an 18 and a 16. Not stellar but I will take it as a first timer. Used my Citori Feather Superlight 16ga with 28" barrels from the 16yd line. Fun stuff.

I'm finally done with this build. Need to take it to the range to adjust the gas block and zero the optic.

I'm in myrtle Beach right now on vacation looking at gun ranges lol. Some of them offer a package where you can shoot a few rounds through an AR platform but too expensive to be worth while. Ah well next time we get to Vegas I'll save some money to get to shoot some suppressed firearms and machine guns.

Shot a 20 in trap today. Fun!

Remington 870 Wingmaster LC 12 ga with factory Remington 1 oz 8 shot loads.

Most of the 5 misses were left hand birds on the first two stations. As a left-handed shooter, I need to practice in this area.

Dang. I haven’t done one in awhile or since eforms came out. They usually took 10 months. My next one will be eform once my dealer gets setup

Purchased from Hansohn Bros online who shipped to my local FFL after purchase. Luckily they have an indoor range so was able to use it a couple of times while it was still in jail waiting on the paperwork. It was a Single Shot Trust, but unfortunately purchased before efile was available. My FFL told me efile's are coming back around 150 days right now.

I used to shoot trap competitively, but now just blow a few clays up from time to time. Foot position and stance at each shooting station is different. That will really help if you work on those fundamentals. Follow the clay with your eyes, and don't focus on the sight. Swing through to the bird bringing the barrel to where you eye is tracking at the bird. Not sure if you have had any instruction, but once you get those fundamentals down, you will improve rapidly. 😉

Here is a good article on stance.

https://www.clay-shooting.com/coachi...t-positioning/

Once you shoulder the gun and line your sights, choose a focal point slightly above and beyond the trap house. That makes it easier to track the bird with your eyes and bring the gun on target. That also gets you on the clay faster. The further out it gets, the harder it is to hit, especially if it has started to drop.
