Owned the car for a week and when I was merging onto the freeway there was a camaro and a straight piped e60 M5 going at it and I thought I'd play a little. It was night time so I couldn't see much, anyway they started slowing down so I was like they didn't even see me let me rip by them. And boom I see a cop slam on my brakes and I get lit up. Told me he could take me to jail for reckless driving but instead gave me a ticket for 90 in a 65. I think I was going 110?
I have a lawyer I'm going to use for an easy win. Wrong year and color of car on top of no radar detector. Easy win. What's some of yalls ticket incident experiences in your M2 and when was your first one in the car? Haha

Damn, bad cop, you got lucky.
I've gotten out of 1 ticket that way. I always debadge my car, Cop wrote down that I was in a silver VW Jetta, I was in a White VW golf. I paid for 1 ticket when growing up at 18, had a customer suggest a traffic lawyer, never paid another. |

I got caught speeding in my M2 a few years back. I had the car about 3 months and hadn't yet 'pushed it'. I was driving home one day, completely open road, no one around and thought "let's see what this can do". The ONE time I do it... is the ONE time a bloody speed camera can just happens to be sitting at the crest of a hill, tucked in behind some trees. Hit the brakes but got tagged doing 88 in a 70.
So frustrating especially when we're constantly told speed camera vans are for safety yet it was sat there watching a completely open and unused road. We all know they're money-making machines but yeah, typical. Made it hard to enjoy my car for a while after that as I honestly thought 'what's the point'. Only time I can enjoy it is at the track and I got thrown off there for breaking the noise limits... on a car with stock cat etc. All I did I put on the manufacture-approved M Performance exhaust... AND I had the valves CLOSED - not in track mode (ironically). Overly restrictive country makes me sick sometimes *rant over*. |

Aug 2017 in my former then almost new lbb OG M2 trying it out on a highway passing a
lasergunning police agent in a civil car. He had me already at 1000meters away he stated. He followed me and gave me the stop sign in his civil car. 'Nice car but I have to confisquate your licence' I was doing 205kmh( 127mph) in a 100kmh(62mph) part of the totally abandoned highway . Three weeks without a licence. In front of a judge... € 2000 fine. And €500 lawyer costs Cheers Robin

Mine is probably coming. I just hope it is when I am doing something fun and not trying to pass gramps in his truck and trailer.

I get pulled over couple times a year, I just give them the look of a broken stressed out guy... a little fun officer, that's all, yes speeding but it was safely done
They usually just say slow it down, be safe and on I go Edit: I never got pulled over doing that speed tho, most of the roads here are like fancy horse trails, can't cruise high speeds here safely 2 warnings per year in My state counts as a point, multiple cars registered adds about $1600 more in insurance premium for 5 years $400 each vehicle |

Amazingly no ticket on the M2 yet.
Early in the pandemic I got pulled over in my 135 in a frustrating way (wasn't having fun and was going over only slightly speed of traffic). The officer told me I got pulled over for speeding but he also noticed lack of a front plate. He told me he would only give me a ticket for the plate and therefore it wouldn't be counted as a moving violation and insurance wouldn't go up. Hard to call him a nice cop as I still don't really understand why I got pulled over to begin with. But, a nice middle-ground gesture I guess. |

Funny this thread pops up. I got on a deserted small town road yesterday, with lots of twisties. Coming out of a turn, I punched it. Whoop whoop, comes a unmarked car with lights on behind me. Asked me why I was acting like a jackass (I wasn't besides having fun for approx. 5 seconds). Wound up letting me roll.
Usually when I get lit up, I pull over immediately, turn off my vehicle, put both hands on the wheel and don't fidget around. The police around here usually appreciate that enough to let you roll. I also conceal carry, so I always alert them that I have a firearm on me (as you're obligated to do) and I think they appreciate the gesture. YMMV.

I live in Socal. I know how it works. I just feel we all speed. a lot. So if caught I will pay fine move on. Not hire some worm lawyer to find some dumb mistake a cop made filling out the form so I can "get out of it" Not my way of doing things. Do you I guess.

When it happens, I am sure it will be a doozy. I wonder at what speed you get the go directly to jail and do not pass go card. Can you believe those people that put the tracking chip in their car for their insurance company to see their "safe" driving? I don't think I want State Farm knowing what I am doing in this car! |

I got a speeding ticket last year, paid the fine and did an online traffic school. No points on my driving record.

Speaking of which, does State Farm list your car as an M235i? I gave them my VIN and that's what it came back as.

Got a speeding ticket last year. First one in the M2. I'm technically eligible for traffic school but since I was doing 40mph over the posted speed limit, traffic school wasn't offered. Live and learn. Don't do 40 over if you want to go to traffic school (at least in CA anyways).

I’m worried about this. I don’t ever drive aggressively in traffic or race other cars, but if a road is empty I’ll let her rip. It’s inevitable that I’ll get it a ticket, and it’s going to be a nasty one (i.e. 90 in a 45, or there about).

In a year and 7 months I have not gotten a ticket in the car, which surprises the hell out of me. I look for it any [every] day.
