M5 vs Ferrari 360
Is this legit? The M5 appears to smoke the Ferrari, I know the M5 is a bad ass car but I would have thought any Ferrari would toast it.

dude, the M5 gives the 430 a run for its money. the 360 is nothing.

M5 with the steptronic will give the F430 or 360 a run for its money in a straight line, esp if the Ferrari is manual.
In the twisties or on a track, the Ferrari would eat the M5 up, given the same driver skill. This is a useless argument - both cars are flagships of their respective categories, and the drivving dynamics and feel must be totally different ( I have never driven a ferrari, have driven a 2002 M5 - ton of fun)

360's got 400hp@8500rpm & 275tq@2750rpm weighing a light 3064lbs M5's got 500hp@7750rpm & 383tq@6100rpm weighing 4012lbs and the 2005 Ferrari F430's got 483hp@8500rpm & 343tq@5250rpm weighing 3197lbs. yes, M5's are wickedly fast, no doubt, but saying that 360's are nothing against them is just horse poo poo. |

ok, so what?
You are just going by numbers. your forgetting traction, and how it puts down the power. check out the 1/4 mile runs

Found on Car and Driver:
M5's 1/4 time is 12.5 seconds@118 MPH F430's 1/4 time is 11.7 seconds@123 MPH couldn't find 360's 1/4 time on Car and Driver, but numbers on the web is anywhere between mid 12's to low 13's, so still a worthy adversary to the M5. |

it has already been released.
its faster than the M5 since it has less weight. The gearing is also different.

Why is it listed on the BMWUSA site as a future vehicle? I had never seen a 6 series until I went to Hilton Head a few weeks ago and saw three in about 15 minutes.
