WARNING: HuperOptik Stark30 causes bluetooth problems
I got my car tinted huperoptik stark 30 last weekend. The installation was great, the tint looks great.. Still waiting for some bubbles to go away, but that's normal.
I have an 08 E90 and use bluetooth with my iPhone. When I drove off in the car for the first time, it unpaired my phone, and I had to go through the pairing process again.. I was like OK, hopefully it won't happen again. Well, it's happened twice to me since then, and now it's starting to get pretty annoying. Anyway, just a warning that even HuperOptik is not perfect! Has anyone had these bluetooth problems with HuperOptik like me? |

This is the first I am hearing of this issue, maybe there is something metallic in the tint that would cause interference but bluetooth doesnt usually run the same way say and FM station or ir would be interfered with.

I guess it COULD be the phone... But it never happened before I got the tint. You both pose a good point though that bluetooth operates on the inside. Perhaps I should change the thread title to a less critical one... But this was never happening before I got tint.

I've had my car unpair my phone a couple of times in the past 2 months. I have no idea why, just does it. I re-pair, and it's fine for a while. I'm going for bug in the radio software....

I have hupter tint, and also have the same problem. I have to pair the car with the iPhone every once in a while... I really doubt is the tint tough.

i have huper tint and have no problems. i did have problem with my cell phone later down the line where it didn't connect but that was the phone's fault and not the tint or blue tooth

Did they take off any of the interior panels to put the tint on? Is it possible they disconnected, knocked some connection that is now causing the phone to disconnect? I vaguely remember someone had possibly their satellite radio knocked out after a something got connected whilst the tint was being done, but I'm not sure.

i have huper, no issues with bluetooth or remote. the best way to test would be to get a friend who has a bluetooth phone and use it in your car and see if it works ok.

I should add that my wife has the same motorola phone (K1M krzr), and when it unpairs mine, if I jump in the car with her phone, it's unpaired as well.
I don't think it's the phone issue, but something with the car (unless by some bizarre fate, I pulled up to another car with the same phone and bluetooth pin, and it got confused and unpair, but that seems unlikely). It happened one with no tint, and once after I tinted the car. |
