Best kid's ride-on car / Power Wheels?
So Christmas is around the corner and my 2.5 year old is ready for his first power wheels.
This is an important life decision and as a young gear head (who correctly pronounces Porsh-uh and knows the make of almost every car brand he sees on the road) I need to do my due diligence as a dad. Looking for some options for a sweet power wheels. I still distinctly remember my black power wheels truck as a kid so I consider this an important decision. I see some cool looking ones that seem like they might actually be super junky, so curious what people have gotten for their kids. Some look rather small (good for a toddler, but not for a bigger kid) he's already quite tall so something he can use for a while would be good.

MX is more fun with room to grow. It has the durability to run on a closed dirt course so it will outperform any Powerwheels product. When your son outgrows it, he can use it as a pit bike when he attends your driving events.

My friends son has been riding since he was 3 and he’s very competitive in the 150cc 4Stroke class now

Mine is 2.5, bought him 12v car, likes it and can finally steer correctly. But I see he gets bored with it quickly. Needs more power would love to get something that I can use too

Prediction, kid uses it 3 times and you're stuck storing this cumbersome fucking thing for years.
Don't do it. |

Could be. If you get it make sure you either have a good neighborhood area to use it, or a truck or something big to take it to the park. Also you will have to push them to use it once in a while. I got one for my kids and we've probably used it about 25 times or so. The sort of ironic thing about it is by the time they're old enough to be sensible enough to use it by themselves, they are too big to use it. But all said, they'll love it.

Yeah, I might have to make it 24v. Will the motors and lights work on 24v with just a simple conversion?

Thanks. Wife definitely won't let him ride something with a motor and two wheels (her brother has had too many motorcycle accidents) and I agree it'll be a pain in the ass to store but we have a shed it can probably live in most of the time.
We live on a little private dead end so lots of space to drive it. Found a BMW M6/M8 GT car that is looking promising.

I would recommend skipping the battery powered ones, and just buy your kid something where he or she has use pedals.
The Berg brand has been a fantastic in our household. https://www.bergtoys.com/us/pedal-karts |

Looks easy enough to hang on a garage wall too to get out of the way.

This. Twice with both boys. The only enjoyment they got out of them, was taking turns running each other over.

I dumped ours on my sister in laws driveway, she was so happy. I asked them how many times their bratty sprog used it, twice all summer.
PITA IMHO. |

Apart from checking the tightness of the bolts periodically, they are relatively maintenance free. |
