This is interesting.
VER pits for reds.

This is the aggressive move similar to last year abu dhabi.

He knows that the merc's were trailing with faster tyres (mediums vs hards), so the only choice is to choose the attack and go for reds.

Mercedes f—ked that up. You allow RUS to make that call if you have a car fast enough to challenge, the W13 isn't that. Mercedes needed to strategize to keep VER behind as long as possible - they weren't going to do that with head/head racing. VER was likely going to pass anyway but they didn't need to let it be that easy.
