F1 2021: British GP - Silverstone (July 18)

Well it's race week and I'm going on Sunday as a guest of Ferrari so can't wait!

Hopefully the upgrades Mercedes are bringing will give Lewis a better chance on home soil although I can't help but think it's still going to be a strong race for Max and Red Bull.

Not sure what to make of the sprint qualifying, maybe it will mix the field up further down the pack for the Sunday race, if people crash or go off on Saturday but can't help but think RB/Merc will be at the front on Saturday and Sunday.

Great to have the fans back in full attendance as well!!

Ferrari should vet their guests more careful to keep MB scum and villainy out

Excited for this week.

Will MB bounce back?

How is ALO going to do, given he had a top 5 qualifying performance at Austria before the block at Q2?

Is Norris going to sustain his mega drives so far? What about Ricciardo?

I'm rooting for Max but honestly, it's not as fun if he just starts blowing away everyone else the same way HAM has done so the past few years.

BIG week, I think we'll really get an idea of what's going on with Merc this weekend. If they're still behind at Silverstone of all places, trouble is here after so many years!

This will fit the prediction I made last year with my close group of friends who enjoy F1 as much as I. I don’t predict this a hiccup, I predict this the change up. I think Hams best years are behind us. I think Merc will maintain itself as a strong contender, but I do not see them dominating in the upcoming 3-5.

Norris was mugged at the Wembley football on Sunday after the match and his £40k watch was taken from him, although unharmed he gave no description of the attackers...why not.
How this will effect his performance this weekend will be seen as with anyone who may be threatened with a knife to hand over their possessions would understandably be shaken.

Strange he would not give a description

Must be due to some "other" considerations.

I very much have a theory, but it’s rooted in 100% speculation so I will not comment.

I don’t believe his race will be too impacted. The younger the more foolish you are. Often times this clouds you from the “what if” scenarios and the looming reality that he could have been killed by an attacker.

So many great memories of the British GP! The most iconic moment IMO still is Nigel Mansell overtaking teammate and bitter rival Nelson Piquet.

We may have the same theory and yes, it's pure speculation too on my part, and that's why I did not say anything.

So they also get a trophy for winning the sprint qualifying? Or am I reading that scematic wrongly?

Does anyone know what tyre rules are set for this format?
Do the teams have to use the same compound for the race as the compound they chose for the sprint race?

Qualifying will take place on Friday, and in a change to normal practice, all drivers must use the *soft tyre for the session, as opposed to having a free choice. As for the Saturday’s Sprint race, drivers will have a free choice of starting tyres and no mandatory pit stop – with a free choice of tyres for the start of Sunday’s British Grand Prix.
The Sprint race will be a race over 100 km or 17 laps at Silverstone , lasting 25-30 min.
Points will be awarded to the top 3 finishers, 3 for the winner down to 1 point for third.

Oh MY,,,I now have a Red Bull fandom connection

Red Bull brings manufacturing and jobs to MY home town

Starting to have a reason to lean toward Red Bull fandom?

Two global beverage companies plan to create more than 400 jobs and invest $740 million in Concord by 2027 to create a new beverage manufacturing site, Gov. Roy Cooper announced Tuesday.

The joint venture is between Red Bull and Rauch, Cooper said. The location will be at the sprawling, former Philip Morris cigarette manufacturing site just down the road from Charlotte Motor Speedway.

The two companies will partner to build a new beverage manufacturing, filling and distribution center spanning 2 million square feet, including office space, at The Grounds at Concord.

Oh geez, don't start. I drove there one day to check out their factory. Gated & on TOTAL lock down with no fan tours

HAAS team store located in the NASCAR factory along with 1 old GRO / MAG car

Couldn't find any HAAS F1 gear so I checked with the redneck running the cash register. First, she looked me up and down like I was an alien. Then stated we have a few hats and shirts in the back right corner. And by few she wasn't kidding! Complete waste of time
