Forza 2 Huge disappointment

I downloaded the Forza 2 demo yesterday on the 360. I heard a lot of great things about this game but wow the graphics are soooooo bad.
Very jaggy edges and backgrounds are blurry.
I thought mayb the recent spring update bricked my 360..it was that bad(no it didnt).
It did have some cool after race analysis things though, and custimzation is nice(not in demo).

Everyone raves about Forza having car damage, the damage is not the same on all cars. The corvette you an crash it and it like falls apart but on a Ferrari all that happens is broken lights and scratches.

I strongly urge any car fan to get a PS3 for Gran Tursimo. Hell even GTHD which is a free download of a upscaled GT4(ps2 game) looks sooo much better and nicer graphics than Forza 2. Can only imagine how GT5 will look.
One of the reasons GT4 didnt have Damage is becuase the Dev's felt the technology was not there to properly repersent crash damage.


Also Forza 2 didnt have any interior, when you go to the interior view you cant see the dash of the car.

The point of Forza is not to look good but to realistically simulate driving. It is more focused on gameplay than eye candy. Forza actively models every single thing you can think of affecting the car. This includes airflow, moving parts in engine and suspension, etc. AI is a lot better in Forza as well.

first two pics suck but the rest look good, keep in mind also its a demo and the final may be diffrent as they round out the code and make it more effecient and open up more cpu time for graphics

Demo should be pretty close to actual game, since game comes out this month.
Also remember GT was pretty much the game that started racing games. It was the first to use real car exhuast and engine sounds and to closely replicated every detail of the car handling(Remeber the Licence tests??).

It is lacking a online feature though, but GTHD was a free download, the full game GT5 is going to have it.

I thought that the driving was very realistic, just like the 1st Forza, but the graphics do blow. I bet that they will be much better on the full version. Several demos (like Rainbow 6 vegas) looked poor in demo form compared to the full version...... keeps the demo under a gig.

Well the damage (aside from cosmetic) is not really on in the demo, check out the videos on IGN, damage will play a bigger part in the full release, plus we only got a hand full of cars, and no customization, which i think will be big!! All the videos on IGN show you can do almost anything you want to the cars!

The reason the demo looks bad is just like all demos for 360 they are trying to give you a feel for the gameplay. The graphics arent nearly as good as the real game. Ive seen the real game and it is SICK!!! Forza 2 is going to be the best driving simulator of all time. Why? because it takes into account every moving f'kn part of the car!!! thats why! the geometry physics and math are all there and yes all the cars will fall apart if you hit something in the harder settings of forza. Wait before you cast your judgment! the game isnt even out yet.

GTHD = PS3, not 360.

get yourself the steering wheel for 360 and pick up a copy of forza 2 when it comes out. Then tell me the game isn't good

He cant drive very well in forza thats why he doesnt like it. And since he cant drive well in forza I guess it means he cant drive well period LOL just like the people on the Forza showdown. pulling 2-3min laps at Road atlanta LOL fuck I could do that on a fkin scooter!!!! on a 1996 CBR 900RR I was pulling 1:30's and that was goofing around with my dad at a track day. If you cant consistently get under a 2 min lap on road atlanta you should put the keys down and give a real driver your car! LOL

I was dissapointed too - the graphics are poor but as already mentioned - they should be better in the final release. The physics are ok - same as forza1. It's still not "realistic" IMO. The damage representation - which is only visual on the demo - is also crap!

Would rather get the logitech wheel with full manual gearbox and clutch.
But it doesnt work with 360 only Ps2/Ps3/PC.
