Smile Bourbon Chocolate Pecan Pie

So I've decided to add more Baking to my repertoire. I've made several of my favorite: Sweet potato pie for several Holidays now. But today I tried my hand at my second favorite pie: PECAN! This particular recipe caught my eye due to the fact it added both Chocolate and Bourbon.
I won't be tasting it until tomorrow after it has cooled and set. We are also hosting a Superbowl Party so I thought I would surprise our guests too with this Southern delicacy!
I can not explain to you how delicious it smells in our house right now....

I watch what I eat and keep the sugar and carbs down. But my god man, I’d dive into that thing! Need recipe as I may have to whip one up too. I’ll google it. I have a pecan weakness.

Ha! Thanks bro. And I fokin L O V E Pecans!!!! I eat them regularly. I especially enjoy Praline Pecans!
Recipe is super simple. Here's the recipe I used: https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/...rbon-pecan-pie

I modified mine as follows: I cut the sugar in half because I added the chocolate chips in. I doubled the Vanilla. And I doubled the Bourbon (the alcohol gets evaporated anyway so it's more for flavor).

We keep a 40 oz bottle of Jim Beam next to the stove as it gets used in a lot of my wife's cooking. The Basil Hayden is too nice for cooking my friend, I'd be pouring one to drink with my cooking. My wife does a killer sweet potato pie which gets a touch of Jim Beam for flavour.

Haha! That's how I roll brother. It was this or Eagle Rare 10, Woodford Reserve, or Willett Reserve.
I sneaked a taste this morning. It's exquisite.

Damn looks good, almost looks good as Blue Berry pie. I can't stand most cakes but blue berry, pecan, raspberry, strawberry rhubarb, apple in that order rock. Anyone that denies themselves Pie is missing out

I have a weakness for a warm slice of pecan pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Add in the chocolate and bourbon and it is heaven! Those look awesome. Great job!

Bourbon pecan pie is a Thanksgiving staple in my house.

Excellent choice.

As with wine - never cook with a bourbon you wouldn't drink.

No offense

I've never eaten pecan pie.

Still not interested.

Would help you make sure the Basil was up to snuff though.
