I use flickr. Usually whatever is on my Instagram is there already so I just save it to my phone from the Flickr app.

x2 on flickr. Flickr has a good compression algorithm. I upload to flickr and download from my iphone when I need to. I use InstaSize if I want to maintain aspect ratio on the thumbnail. I've had no issues with lossy compression.
