Question Replacement for Hellcat daily driver?

I daily my Charger Hellcat and have it up for sale. Would like to free up $ for non-car things even though I love the car. Doubt it will sell for a $ I am ok with letting it go at thanks to Dodge giving away new Hellcats. So just kicking around ideas at this point.

Anyway, I can't come up with any viable replacements that I would actually be happy with for more than a couple months. Really looking for AWD or RWD. Something FWD would have to wow me. If it's no fun to drive, I'm not interested.

It's just me so I don't NEED another sedan, but it'd be nice. Ideally, cut purchase price in half so in the $30k area (Can be used.) Has to not be a nightmare to drive in snow.

Obvious option would be WRX/STi, but outdated power plant, boy racer & I have read a lot of owners complain about the crap power band and rev hang. Do they still have junk stereos? I need a good stereo. Not really wanting to rip it all out. Just did that project with my MSM.

Updated list:
WRX/STi
Chevy SS
Golf R If they are not $40k anymore
GC SRT8
Q50
S3/S4

Civic Type R? It's as boy racer as it gets, but it's actually quite fun behind the wheel. Good mpg, decently quick, manual, plenty of room, and fwd is good in snow.

Q50 S / Redsport? Can be had in AWD or RWD. Can feel a bit numb, but the 3.0TT powerplant is awesome for bolt ons and the interior is pretty premium.

Audi A3 Sportback? Decent hybrid that's not super lame like a Prius. Probably lowest on the list.

This may be a bit big, but SRT Jeep Grand Cherokee? I had a 2015 GC and absolutely loved it, and I had the chance to drive an SRT and fell in love. Almost pulled the trigger on one before I got my M2C.

If you want to stay in the V8 American Sedan game, you can scoop a Chevy SS for around that price point. Drove one of those as well, and it's pretty fun. Good performer on the track too.

Golf R? Somewhat premium, awd, pretty good power plant, good mpg, roomy. Never owned one, but from what I have read and been told, the MK7 is miles ahead of the 6, so I would shoot for that.

Focus RS? Meh interior, cheap, decent power, good mpg, awd + manual and roomy. Engine is limited by open deck design though, so it will never be a crazy powerhouse.

I'm sure I can come up with some more... These were the ones that came off the top of my head.

Just cannot get excited about a Civic.

A3? Pass. I would not be happy unless S3, S4, RS3, etc. After driving an RS3, S3, S4, S7, no way would an A3 do it for me. Would only have a MB or Audi is under warranty for a while.

I guess I have to drive, or at least sit in, an RS before I say yes/no. However, that head issue scares me...

Had a 2016 Camaro SS for a while. I really liked it. Good compromise between sport and comfort, can get it with adaptive suspension also (mine didn't have it).

Apart from that dunno other than whats been mentioned already. I guess I would add GTI into the mix. But sounds like you want power so Camaro would be my pick.

Is there a mileage restriction?

How about a 2015 or 2016 Mercedes GLA45 AMG? The harmon kardon implementation in M-Bs is consistently praised by owners.

Used 335 is one answer, especially if you chip it. But as always, GTI is hard to argue with.

I'd have to go with a "gently used" CTSV.

what's your definition of fun, if it's straight line I would imagine nothing would beat hellcat surge of power at the px other than electric car (Model 3 P?)

Nothing I get will be as fast in a straight line. Has to be quick in a straight line & not be a complete wet noodle turning.

Coming from a hellcat or someone considering a WRX, I wouldn't expect you to be picky about interiors.

I've never driven a Hellcat, but I have experience with WRX's. My past two cars (prior to the 340i) were modded WRX's (2013 Stage 2, 2016 Stage 1). They were a lot of fun, good bang for the buck, held good resale value, and were unmatched in the snow with the right tires.

The current STI still utilizes the older 2.5L engine used in my older model WRX. It was known for ringland failure issues, and you basically need an aftermarket downpipe to access the gains in HP you would want. Even then, the turbo runs out of steam up top, and an aftermarket downpipe can create inspection issues, depending on local emissions requirements in your state.

The 2.0L in the newer WRX's is okay and decent for around town and from light to light, but falls flat at higher (highway) speeds up top. I never replaced the DP in my '16 because I didn't want the issues with passing inspections, but was not impressed at all with the Stage 1 and quickly disappointed with passing power at highway speeds.

Having test drove the Q50S, S4, S3, C43, M235i xdrive, multiple 340i's (standard and manual) BY FAR the most engaging and thrilling of all of these was the M235i (it wasn't even the newer M240 version with the more potent B58)

My recommendation would be to test drive an M240i xdrive. I went with the 340i only because I needed the added space and couldn't justify a 2-door, but I still have moments of regret. I also have heard that the Q50's wake up really well with a few basic mods, and I have to admit I enjoyed the turbo version of that car as well.

The VR30 has been proven to respond well to DP's and a tune. HERE IS A LINK to Z1's video where they went from 299whp/297wtq up to 425whp/494wtq. If OP wants a 2 door 4 seater, the Q60 is a great choice. I personally much prefer the look of the Q50, and it has 4 doors. Can be had in either AWD or RWD, so non-hoon or hoon mobile depending.

For ONLY $800 and the cost of a tune, that's a massive gain in power. As previously stated, the Q50 definitely gets my vote as it SEEMS to fit OP's criteria.

Chevy SS

E90 M3 with HK or Individual Stereo option. gas mileage sucks for the power you get though. And you've already had an e90 so I suspect you want a change of scenery inside.

if you want something newer you could look at a f30 xi car. But I dumped mine as a daily after 9 months because it was super boring.

My buddy had a B8 S4. dumped it because he was scared of the timing chain issues. not sure how big a deal that is.

Golf R is always a good choice.
