I would like to put a deposit but the nearest lotus dealership is another state away. I need to do my research for a local lotus independent shop.

Dealer willing to sell MSRP? Car is getting alot of traction online.

They've made the area with the mechanical linkage under the car out of a mesh plastic structure to even show it off. Looks nice, not sure if I'll be getting the v6 manual or the i4 dct myself. I've got at least 8 months to figure it out.

Yes, the Lotus dealer I'm working with is part of a dealer group that only sells at MSRP, I have it in writing as well (California).

I've been a manual driver for all my life, f8x first car where I went dct and I love the dct, not sure if I'll go back to manual or not.

I'd definitely have a DCT in the Emira. It's car specific and use case specific for me. The M2 I have had to be a manual.

Barring something drastic, this will be the last manual Lotus ever produced. Also, the V6 is supposedly near the end of its life due to European emissions regulations, and will reportedly only be available for the first few years (the turbocharged I4 will carry on for a few years after that). There should be plenty of turbocharged I4/DCT cars out there for the next 5-10 years, including the Emira, and I think once the V6 Emira is gone a lot of I4 buyers will regret not opting for it when they had the chance.

I agree with this. Lotus production numbers are about 4800 units /yr. Bearing in mind this is going to be a global car and China is going to be a new market for Lotus, I think the Emira will sell out plenty quick. All 10 units allocated to my country were snapped up on pre-order within 24 hours.

The V6 sounds pretty great in Jenson's driving video. Not at all Camry-like

Quite impressive. Didn't expect Lotus to produce such a beautiful and [appearance] well-built product.

Just so you guys know. In UK if you want an Emira you will have to wait 1.5years now
In my case, if i really decide to buy one i will try to buy a service car from Bilbao (Spain)

With the emissions stuff regarding ecu tune detection in California (where I live), I'll probably go with the v6 manual.

Looks very promising design-wise. A good evolution, while still having that Lotus touch. Interior looks great, simple! Hopefully it stays true to the driving dynamics Lotus is known for. Excited to see more of this one.

as a mid engine die hard and current 981 owner I must admit the Lotus never appealed to me esthetically. just never did anything for me in the looks dept, but....holy shit, they finally did it!!! poor man's 458/488.....shut up and take my money!!!

this is what the NA1/NA2 NSX should have evolved into imo....it actually reminds me of the HSC concept they came out with that was rumored to be the NA2 replacement.

Here is the spec I'll be trying to talk the boss into
