Simulating the F8x in iRacing
Using the newly released M4 GT4 as a base, has anyone tinkered to try to emulate the F8x chassis? I know this is far from an exact science, and I'm still a noob to iRacing so haven't really done anything in terms of non-fixed setups in general.... but cranking back the camber and adjusting toe a bit as a start?
Anything else folks have tried? Thx |

use asseto corsa OG, look into getting the custom shaders patch and sol. you can find a lot of BMW m2 cars for download around the web.
I have found some m2's and my local track. Its great experience, even though i'm 10 seconds faster on sim than i am irl. |

I found simulators completely useless other than to learn a track, however, after much trial and error we finally have a car in Asseto that behaves like our track car. Hard slicks, dusty track setting, no aero, 200kg of ballast, full fuel tank, 70% power. That car handles very much like our actual car.
With this setting we get some actual benefits from the sim, like trying new lines etc. Before this it was absolutely and completely useless, as I don't drive a M4 GT3 etc so there's little to learn from being fast with them in a sim. |
