I hate daylight savings time!

Finally, after all these years, California is thinking of abolishing daylight savings time.

Beyond the obvious inconvenience of resetting multiple time pieces in and around our household, the one hour change really screws up my circadian rhythm. Emerging studies indicate that this can be detrimental to our health, and I agree.

I don't get what the big deal is. You go to sleep an hour earlier and wake up at basically the same time.

It's one hour not 6 and you still adjust to that in day or 2.

I hate that it screws up my sleep but I'm looking forward to having some sunshine after I come home from work.

In Oregon I love it. I just wish we could leave it alone. I enjoy the extra daylight hours. It sucks to get off work and be dark at 5pm.

If DST is ended, does that mean we would always be on today's time schedule or yesterday's?

Personally, I like it getting dark at 8pm during the summer.

I was upset that I woke up at 7 something this morning instead of 6, but I got over it.

We do this stupid thing since decades in Europe and it sux from the beginning. The times where the clock settings are really saving pollutions or other kind of environmental things is longer away and its just annoying most people here.

I'm with you. I was ahead yesterday. I have a clock that automatically resets every year except it does it the morning of instead of at night. I always forget and thought I was getting out of bed yesterday at 7:15. Come downstairs and realize it was only 6:15. So I started my day early :-)

Garage List
I feel like the day is getting away from me too quickly today. I'll be adjusted by tomorrow but tomorrow is Monday. Why can't it feel like Monday is getting away from me rather than Sunday?!

I do hate losing the extra hour, however I do like gaining some more sunlight in the evening especially here in northern california when it gets dark at 4:30pm in January.

But keep in mind we gained an extra 24 hours this year (leap year) so I can't complain about losing just 1.

I could do without changing the clocks twice / year.

With you on that--prefer the longer day and wish they would just keep it as one time instead of changing.

To be more concise, I wish California would pick one or the other and stick with it. No more clock changing.

I could do without, but it is nice knowing that I get an extra hour of sunlight to ride the bike.

For people that really have a problem adjusting to a one hour time difference, travel for work or vacation across time zones (having to change twice in the same week, not twice a year) must be out of the question?

Then changing the clocks takes 15 minutes a year and it is a problem?

As someone that likes to exercise and do other things outside I look forward to daylight savings time. As of this weekend, I can run/ride my bike after work and not in the dark.

DST is a useless relic from WWI. It was initially implemented by the Germans and Austrio-Hungarians to help conserve energy (coal) during war time.

Keep the days longer is all I ask for if something changes.

I like that I just got back from a ride on my bike that could not have happened yesterday.
