Definitely better design than previous gen but we all know it’s going to be just as boring to drive.

If I had a Prius I'd save so much money on gas. Not because it's fuel efficient, but because I'd never want to drive.

I'm glad it's not hideous like the last gen but I am glad the last gen was because it got us into our Volt. Now we're back to guzzling gas like good Americans with the Bronco but I would definitely buy this one.
Yes, it's soul-less, yes, it's an appliance, but our 2010 was reliable as hell and gave us 100k excellent miles. |

That's a nice design. Looks like a better version of a Model 3.

C&D has some of the Japan model specs on their write up. New model wont be amazing performance but at least it isn't offensive to the eyes any more.

Much more appealing slope angles. Toyota finally got it right. Prius jokes aside, I'd be very happy if I was looking for this kind of car.
If only they had translated this pleasing design philosophy into the new Supra. That car is way overdue for a front end exterior refresh.

We now live in a world where the Prius is a better looking design than the M4.

And they actually moved the drive's information to...in front of the driver now.
It's like the ergonomics of the last version were just trying to be too sci-fi and not practical. It drove like a real car, but it was trying too hard in some places. With a better more ergonomic interior, it's a good change.

This car looks far better than the mouse looking gen4 car my father has. Bleh.
Too bad the engine is still going to suck. At least the interior is no real, that's good.

While the US variants are still unconfirmed, it seems the engines received a good boost in power for the ROW variants. The Hybrid now makes 196 hp compared to the current 121 hp, and the Plug-In makes 220 hp, which should make it a little quicker and less strained feeling.

Not bad looking at all. Both interior and exterior. Kind of weird how the slant of the hood runs almost parallel with the windshield, though. Looks rear wheel driven. These awd?
Surprised to see that even the prius hasn't completely relegated the use of physical buttons and knobs.... I wonder how much more expensive a fully transparent smoked lcd driver's screen would be in place of the one in the renders. |

I imagine AWD will be available given the current generation has it. They use an AWD-e system which uses a motor to drive the rear wheels.

Weird to see Toyota is making nice cars again and Honda/Subaru started smoking crack.

With this extreme roof slope, the visibility will suffer, and some drivers may feel claustrophobic. I hope that low drag coefficient will somewhat make up for it. Also: you're not going to see traffic lights when stopped with this kind of roof, so it looks like form over function to me.
