Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT review

I’m back with a review of the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT.

“Eh, it’s an ugly Lambo”

No friends, it is not. In fact it earns a perfect score not only for raw speed, but its driver engagement. Things like perfect steering feedback and a ZF that reads your mind make this SUV the perfect daily and more.

Absolute monster of an SUV... but that price is just absurd and again with the coupe rear you do lose some cargo space.

The sticker on this particular one was over 200k…yeesh. But in this rare case you do get something that lives up to the bill.

If I lived in the northeast and needed a 1 car to do it all, this would be near the top of the list. Seen a couple in person and they are very aggressive.

Would take this over an Urus every day. Too many trophy wives and posers drive the Urus.

There was a review that compared to the Cayenne GT to an Urus... the end result was that the Cayenne GT felt more precise and clinical wheras the Urus just felt rawer and more wild plus the sound is better... the Urus gets an odd rep for its clientele but its a phenomenal SUV... don't think I could choose the GT over the Lambo.

I guess, and journalists opinions are debatable - but I am more partial to the Porsche brand and hard for me to justify spending $50k+ more for a vehicle (before the crazy Lambo options) with the same powertrain and same performance. And the closest Lambo dealer to me is 90 miles away, Porsche is 5 miles away. I also don't like the in-your-face style of the Lambo.

Yea, we’ll call it a Coupe while we’re at it like Porsche would want too.

SUV without question. It’s a large vehicle, give any MLB Evo a test drive. Notably larger than a GLE or X5.

No point in arguing over definitions when no one uses the actual proper terms. Everyone including automakers and journalists mix the two on a daily basis. If you want to be proper, SUVs are only truck based chasis with body on frame.

Porsche should be ashamed of themselves for making SUVs.

Great review. Truly a perplexing vehicle, although an impressive one at that. Not a fan at all of the design, the regular Cayenne is very pretty, this one however...

You can thank Porsche's SUVs for that Cayman you're driving...

Yea they’re sort of stuck with this weird design language that translates well in some cases (Taycan) and does not in others, like the GT here.

To the extent the Macan and Cayenne are, by far, the highest selling models, Porsche is not ashamed, but rather is printing cash.

Besides, what else could be more proper than to tow your 911 in race trailer to the track behind a Cayenne GTS?

When you try to be something to everyone you ultimately sell the company's soul and lose site of the brand.

Porsche and Lambo SUVs are freaking glammed up Audi SUVs. Sure, you can make an SUV performance machine, but why? I just don't get it. I shake my head in disappointment at BMW, Porsche, Lambo, Audi, etc. for making these lifted glorified station wagons and sedans with crap utility and worthless off-road capability. But as you're implying, there's always someone waiting there cash in hand to buy one of the vehicles and that someone likely cares next to nothing about the driving experience and is more interested in the emblem on the hood.

I would bet you could count the owners on two hands in this country that actually tow anything with their Porsche SUVs much less even know how to connect a trailer

You should be ashamed of yourself for posting nonsense. No Porsche SUV? You'd have no more new Porsche anything.

Same for a lot of brands.

Also, for example, the V6/4 banger Mustangs, Camaros etc keep the V8 variants alive.

Get with it. We all find some cars boring, ugly, slow, whatever. We just don't buy those models.
